Tamiya 1/72 Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero (Zeke)

This is the final pictures of my latest project; the Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero Fighter ("Zeke") with a scratchbuilt IJN carrier Junyo inspired base for the aircraft.

Best kit I have built in 1/72 sofar. Used no putty at all, just a couple of drops of CA glue as a filler in two places...

The details are in the buildthread (see link at the top of this post), but the short version is:

The base is made from a metal giftbox I got when I bought some stuff for my TV.

The wooden deck is made from 2x3 mm basswood strips that are glued together, sanded, weathered and flat coated. The tie-downs are scratchbuilt as well. It took a while to build, but I was so pleased with the kit and the result I got, so I decided to build a base for it as well.
