1/48 Tamiya Lancaster

Post by Mylightweight »

Hi Guys,

I have been blessed with an awful lot of cash for Christmas and am thinking of buying myself a Tamiya 1/48 Lanc.

I have two questions,

1. I have heard the surface detail is all raised, is this true?

2. I can't work the forum search tool to find anyone that has built one (hint hint  ) if anyone can help me find one

Any thoughts on this kit, it would probably be the Dambuster version of the kit

Cheers, merry Christmas
Chris

Yes the panel lines are raised on Tamiya's big Lanc.

Some lincs for Lancs:

Thats what I found in the first 18 pages of searching for tamiya and lancaster

Hope it helps

That first link from Smiffy was my Lanc, a great kit let down by a very shallow bomb-bay which seems to throw out the cockpit dimensions a bit.
Raised panel lines don't really matter that much on this kit as a lot of it is in black! - I've also yet to see a bad kit with raised lines. Look at the real thing and see if you can tell which is engraved & which is raised..... :th:

Most of all, HAVE FUN with it!

Gaz, your Tamiya Lanc is a damn fine build :thumb1: Though I must confess that I had failed to notice the shallowness of the bomb bay. I am sorely temped to get the Grand Slam kit. If only I had the space to store such a huge model when built.
