Plastic Sheets for Practising

Post by dylanchannon »

Does anyone know of where you could purchase plastic sheets for practising painting/weathering etc. or indeed what suitable material could be sourced and used?

Many thanks in advance from a real newbie.

Many hobby shops sell styrene sheets, you can also find them on ebay. There's also nothing to stop you re-cycling waste plastic packaging at home, just clean it thoroughly and then prime it. I've also used metal containers like coffee cans too, I've turned them into paint brush holders with camo schemes / weathering / washes, etc. You can use cheaper spray can car primer on these objects too.

Thank you so much. I did think that I may be able to have a go on things like ice cream containers, but your tip about priming them first makes a lot of sense.
