Those figures would be suitable for a 88 in Africa
As for the colors
You can use the life color set but lifecolor paints arw not so easy and good to use in a airbrush fron what i have heared
The vallejo sets look pretty good if you ask me but i personally prefer Tamiya and Aqueous paints
So when i painted my DAK Panzer III i just mixed and matched those colors
There is a difference in the base colors though
The first vehicles and equipment where already in use by the wehrmacht so they where grey at first
They where repainted but the dark grey gives it a darker tone then the later vehicles that where primed in oxide red and had the brownish yellow sprayed over that without the grey in between them
But it is hard to say wich color is the best as vehicles in Africa where subjected to a lot of sunlight so they faded quite fast
And they where covered with dust most of the time aswell so if you even find a colored reference photo those factors are changing the color of the vehicle
But fron what i have heared from several modellers including some hardcore rivetcounters the Vallejo DAK sets come pretty close

It would help to know where you are? In the UK Tamiya do a DAK 88mm kit https://www.emodels.co.uk/tamiya-1-35-g ... l-kit.html

Not that, it helps as you say yours ins't DAK, the figure set you give appears to be the same as for the kit. I'm no expert but I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to change them to any unit you wanted.

As for colours I think this is subjective to some extent, with personnel preference paying a large part. I personally use Ammo Mig for just about all my paint and find it excellent, they do a DAK starter set http://www.migjimenez.com/en/acrylic-se ... c-set.html which you can expand on.

sorry kev am located in scotland its there uniform looks a bit to heavy to be worn in Africa. i am just not sure if the Africa Corps Luftwaffe would be under rommels command as hoping to do a diorama with rommels command halftrack and the 88 and sdkfz 7

hi mark it would be brush painted as i am new to the hobby and don't own an air brush yet

Well as you use brushes the lifecolor set is a option
The vallejo set is ready to use for a airbrush so a bit thin for brushpainting
