Meng T-90A work in progress

Post by russ2471 »

Ok I can hold out no longer and have taken the plunge :pistols:

Image

The T-90 is a Russian third-generation main battle tank that is a modernisation of the T-72 (it was originally to be called the T-72BU, later renamed to T-90). It is currently the most modern tank in service with the Russian Ground Forces and Naval Infantry. Although a development of the T-72, the T-90 uses a 125mm 2A46 smoothbore tank gun, 1G46 gunner sights, a new engine, and thermal sights. Standard protective measures include a blend of steel, composite armour, Smoke mortars, Kontakt-5 explosive-reactive armor, laser warning receivers, Nakidka camouflage and the Shtora infrared ATGM jamming system. It is designed and built by Uralvagonzavod, in Nizhny Tagil, Russia.

This is the kit I will be using

This kit has been a dream to work on so far, the look and feel of the suspension is fantastic,so much so I think I'm going to put some ballast in the hull and have the tank negotiating some sort of obstacle when I display it :th:

Thanks for looking

Yes Russ, come to the dark side. Kit looks great btw; the idea of the T-90 negotiating an obstacle is a great one!!! Meng really puts 110% into their kits.

I am sure they are both great kits....

Your Wallet should be doing the talking !!!

if you are "not" into Engines or Link by Link tracks.... then the Zvezda kit could be a good addition to your collection. on the other hand ! if you like super detailing engines....?
Then the Meng kit is for you... but be aware the Price tag will be "adjusted" in accordance ! LOL

of course if Money isn't an object... then both kits.... ! LOL
watch out for the New Trumpeter kit.... I'm saving for that one !

Good thing that Russ is a medic.
Ok Russ... seeing that engine like that is making it really hard to leave my T90 where it is.
Raaaghhh I hate your thread.
But I can't not look.
That thing is soooo sweet.

Ahhh.. Crap.. That means we have to wait.
Oh we'll....go save someone Buddy.

Those are some odd colours on that engine. If Meng called them out its for a reason.... Lets just hope that its not just 'cause they thought it would be funny.

RUSS! If you find pictures of a t-90 without side skirt! That would be great for you!
So you can show off your nice Link by Link tracks!

Would be sad to have ll that work go under cover!

Keep up the good work!

Oh! The trumpeter kit is in Pre order phase already and it's not cheap!
But I won't be ale to buy mine before early 2014..... Not until the model Curfew is lifted! LOL

Remember guys! If you get the Zvezda? Parts Preparation (clean-up) is essential !

Take care and happy modeling!

Norm.
