favourite planes, tanks, cars or others.

Post by DoubleDigit12 »

Hey guys was just wondering what everybody's favourite plane, tank, car or other kind of vehicle is.

My favourite plane is the euro fighter typhoon because every time I see it at the airshow it blows my mind with how fast and loud it is! :o

My favourite tank is a pzkpfw VI or panther as I live the way it looks and I think it blends speed and firepower together.

My favourite car is a ford focus rs because it is a realistic car that packs a punch.

Post yours down below.

F16.

I know jack about tanks so I'll say Conqueror because it's British.

BMW 435D convertible if we're talking about attainable, in dreamland an Aston Martin. Any.

Favourite plane is the EE Lightning, but I love most Cold War jets.

Tank, has to be the best tank ever.... Challenger II

and car, without doubt Aston Martin.

Gotta agree with the spits and f16 is a slick looking plane too. I like the lightning and I managed to see one at the museum of flight in scotland.

Gotta say the conquerors cool but I think challenger 2 wins there.

Like the idea of the 435d pretty sexy. I myself quite like the 6th series coupes. Ferrari california and two Aston Martins gotta love those supercars. If I had to choose one ot would be the dodge viper.

Plane would be A10 or su27/33 flanker, tank is something big, green, russian and having a bl10 gun, car wise it varies but who doesn't love a 69 charger!

Gotta love the a10 such an iconic plane. Su 27 is a pretty sexy looking plane... love them curves lol.

Big Russians with bl10s and m4a1 shermans nice.

Gotta love the viper :) can't go wrong with a good old bit of 60s muscle either.

This is one of those questions someone asks and then I give 15 favorites in each category. So I'm going to be a bit brutal with myself and stick to one apiece.

Plane: B-17F or G. It's the plane that got me into planes and models, so it wins this category above my other 50 favorites.

Tank: Not a tank guy so much, but a Soviet T-72. I just like the shape of it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Car: Aston Martin V12 Vantage. As with the planes, it's just a hair above my many favorites.

I could probably produce a spreadsheet with categories each with a different favorite, I like a lot of things, so this is a difficult question. Tomorrow I might feel differently.

Thats not even a fair question haha.

Ive got to many to name but i willing to give it a go..

Favorite plane: uhm uhm uhm ehh the.. uuhhh nf-5 yeah really... liking the lines of the plane mainly and otherwise id would be a su-47

Favorite tank: uhm dont really have one... im gonna go with the panzer on this one

Favorite car: impossible to choose! But the ferrari f40... followed by the porsche spyder 918...

Everything old has a little edge over the new thing.. i like futuristic improvents (say su47). But idk... maybe im just liking the fact that the old needed more work when flying or driving... back when u needed a true skill lol
I dont know if this goes for planes but ive driven multiple ferraris (not owned just driven) but the f40 was a handfull i loved it ever since

My favourite plane - So many to choose from but I like planes that look like they have a job to do and do it with a boat load of ordnance hanging off them. The A10 and F15-E hit scratch that itch for me but after living at Conningsby for a while, there's nothing beats the sound of a Merlin flying overhead.

My favourite tank - Got a soft spot for the CVR(T) family Scorpion/Scimitar/Spartan etc.

My favourite car/bike/bus - I don't really have a favourite, as I can't think of them as being anything other than a way of getting from A-B :)

My favourite helicopter - Chinook... nuff said.

My favourite ship - just about any destroyer/frigate except not the fancy dan missile boats that we seem to have today. Guns, torps and depth charges for me :)
I just added another one to the, "What the HELL was I thinking list..."

Favorite planes, planes! Can't build them worth a crap, so I don't. if I have to pick Sopwith Camel, Stuka, jet Corsair,

Favorite tank, TANKS! If I have to pick, Tiger I, Shermans, not a tank but I like them, all German AT guns,

Favorite car, I don't like all cars, but my true love is a 1970 426 Hemi Cuda. Mopar Blue and black  , or truck, but now I have a family, so I have a Chevy Envoy. A far cry from my Cuda, :(

My favourite car has to be the Mercedes-Benz 300SL. It is perfection :)
Favourite tank obviously Panzer IIIs and the Panzer II L
Favourite plane is hard to pick, i´d say Bf110, Spitfire and M.C. 205 - they are all appealing for various reasons.
When it comes to motorbikes i have to say the Dnepr ones are cool and i also like the classic Japanese ones from the 1980s in general.

Ohhh hard to pick

Though most fave is probably the spitfire. But even then I feel the love for p38, f4u, p51, p39 and the p40. Even then I would have to break it down to categories.

British fighter - Spitfire mkviii - I'm aussie so bit biased towards mk but wasn't given the opportunity to shine.
British bomber - Tie between the Lancaster and the Mossie... still undecided.
Aussie built - Definitely has to be the Beaufighter mk 21.
American Fighter - tough but the F4u pulls out ahead from the P51, P39, P38 and the P40. I'm also part kiwi so having seen a f4u in kiwi markings stole my heart. Though as growing up in Port Moresby I've been lucky to seen and touch wrecks of p38 n p39.
American Bomber - B17. Loved Memphis Belle the movie and seeing that as a kid made me appreciate the sacrifice aircrews made.
German - there is a lot of love for the 109, though the fw190 comes across as sexy.
Japanese - Always liked the look of the Zeroes, but it has to be the N1K2s. It looks like such a beast and if it had the engine, probably the pilots and time it would of given some of the american pilots a run for their money.
Civi - tough... either the c47, dch twin otter or the b747. Dad worked on the c47 and twin otters, so as a kid got to run a muck around them. Though the 747 is definitely my queen of the skies.
Car - Was going to say the Mustang, but Mercedes Benz SLS AMG takes it. Though a long car, but omg I love it. Sad to see it stopped production, though the AMG that replaced it is taking my heart.
Tank - playing WoTs has opened up the world of tanks to me and after building the pz 3, KT and Leopard A4. I still think the KT or even the Panther is my tank.
Modern Jet - i don't have a fave, as I've never really liked jet fighters. If I had to pick one it would be either the f16 or even the f18. F16 because of the air intact, always thought it was the aircraft's standout feature for me and the f18, I'm australian nuf said.
Gunpla - Has to be Evangelion Unit 02. I'm an Asuka fan and thinks she is best girl.
Scifi - not relating to gunpla. Would have to be either the Super Star Destroyer or the X wing from star wars.

I say these, but the more I research aircraft, tanks, cars or what not. It switches. Though as I'm studying to be a pilot, I would love to own/build/restore an F4u in flying condition as it was my dad's favorite aircraft and would do it up in RNZAF colours, just for him.

aussie built.......how about the CAC CA-15, also known unofficially as the CAC Kangaroo. faster than a P-51. Never went into production unfortunately. Jets arrived on the scene.

just chucking this in as something which is largely forgotten or not widely known overseas.

This is the B17 diorama guys. The kit had a magazine insert showing more pics of it but I don't have those.

I remember it like it was yesterday!

Yep! That's the one!

Had I some shelf space and some skill I'd love to try to reproduce this.

Easy question for me. I'm aviation only and it has to be the Buccaneer (great news from Tanmodel eh?).

But - if I had to choose a tank? The Chieftain as I did the Airfix one several decades ago ;)

Car - the Mk II Escort in some rally guise.

Aircraft -WW2 era would have to be the Hawker Hurricane. Understudy to the Spitfire, it was the country girl to the Spitfire's lady. Modern day would be the F14 Tomcat, a true badass and beautiful to look at.

Tanks - WW2 era - German Panther, an almost perfect design (eventually) and its steroid filled cousin the Tiger II (aka The Bridge Killer!). Modern day, not too fussed, maybe a Challenger 2.

Ships - WW2 would be the German pocket battleships. Their design quality and aesthetics were (thankfully) inversely proportional to their effect on the outcome of the war. Or the US Iowa class battleships - jaw droppingly beautiful.

With all the above, while professing admiration I acknowledge they were built to kill people.

Cars - My S reg. Peugeot 306 DTS!!!!! First real decent car I ever had. Diablo red, A/C, leather trim seats, CD auto-changer in the boot and that beautiful 1.9 litre turbo diesel. Fantasy wise, any Aston Martin because they are just so beautiful - AND British!! If its good enough for 007, I'll take one please!
