Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R build FINISHED

I have made a start on the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R and other than putting the front forks on wrong and it looked like a motocross bike but i could not see what i had done wrong

After quickly taking off the front forks before the glue set i left it alone and had a rethink and then realised i had put a section on upside down what a plumb.

So today i have been doing a bit of the hoses and sanded out the seam marks of the fuel tanks where they are joined and put primer on most of the clear parts so that will do for today as it is getting to me.

Up to yet no problems with the kit only the builder.

I have had a disaster and had to butcher the rear panel because of these stupid clear over panels that let you see through.

The part i have cut of i supposed to slide into the grey section which was clear until i gave it a coat of primer so this rear section has been a pain.

I do not know if anyone has encountered this issue but i guess it is down to my modeling skills.

Not sure about the blue colour but it is to late now and when the clear coat has fully dried i will add the decals and see what it looks like.

I don't know what has happened but the front forks have come loose then broke off.

Turned out nice dave but nothing to do with your build but the mirrors look odd they look to big

I thought that about the mirrors as well but my big problem is trying repair the front forks and they are to heavy to just glue so I think I will need some support maybe inserting pins to join them.

Dave, normal dress making pins are ideal and i think it's a 0.8mm drill bit is perfect. You willl have to be accurate though

I did used dress making pins and luckily i got away with it and also i have painted a thin band of blue around the wheels but i am not sure it looks right though.

I only have one kit in total on the work bench which is a Suzuki GSXR1300 Hayabusa but I am not sure about starting it as I feel the paint job is out of my league.

I purchased it some weeks ago but just put it to one side and the more I look the less I feel about building it.

I know it sounds negative but that's how I feel.

Hi mate

Yes that's the same kit but I am not sure how good the supplied printed paint masks are to achieve that paint job.

I think I will just have a go and see what happens but I won't use the masks supplied I will try some other method.

Dave, the paint masks will be perfect i wouldnt even chance doing it some other way.

Hi Johnj

I will start it tomorrow and I will go with the silver and blue paint scheme but it will need another colour for the blue as it is Tamiya TS51 and that comes in a can but I airbrush mind you I could decant the paint but I prefer Vallejo or Tamiya X paints.

I am not sure if those masks need be cut out or what.
