Here is the kit I'm building. It compliments the kit I'm building for the multi engine bomber build group.







This group was known as "the blue nosed bastards of bodney".

This kit is very nice. Very little flash. Parts are nicely formed and the detail appears very good.

The parts fit together very well.


Started with interior green



Added some flat black

I forgot to put in the radiator but fortunately I was still able to get it in.

The fuselage fit together very nicely. Lots of pins and tabs to align.



Wings also fit nicely

I should start buying Tamiya, but I am a glutton for punishment as I buy cheap, old kits which I continually curse at.

Thanks. This is my first Tamiya plane. There are things I would do different now having gotten this far such as I would have painted a couple of things in a different order

My modelling skills are pretty naff but one thing I'm getting good at is reading through the instructions and deciding on the build order to facilitate spray painting.

The finish painting will be a real pain. I downloaded several pictures of the real plane and it is significantly different than the box art or the instructions. It will require masking of the wings, stabilizers and fuselage for the proper striping. Also there is a non skid area on the wing under the cockpit. The wing striping will require me to tape the flaps and landing gear doors in place before painting the red and black stripes. The blue nose might be difficult just because its so small. The tail will have a blue rudder (not a problem) but the tail numbers are all black in the decals. In the pics the numbers are white in the blue area so that is gonna be next to impossible for me to duplicate (not sure what I'm gonna do there yet). So far I am very happy with the way it's coming out.
