Ism Friday night live at the bench what have you been working on for Friday August 18th

Post by Kingdan »

"WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING ON THIS WEEK?" - A NEW SEGMENT OF FRIDAY NIGHT'S ISM LIVE "AT THE BENCH" SHOW!

* Open now until 1 hour before the show on Friday, August 18th*

** PLEASE read ALL of the rules below carefully! **

Hello everyone! This post is being created to give you, as a member of ISM, the opportunity to share what you have been working on during the week on the Friday night show. Please read the rules below in order to participate.

01). By participating in this thread, you are giving permission for the ISM live crew to share your work during the Youtube broadcast of the ISM Live "At the Bench" Friday show.

02). Please, only post your own work and not that of others.

03). Remember, post only one image per member each week. This will prevent prolific builders from dominating this segment and will prevent this part of the show from becoming too long.

04). Also, have only one project shown in the image per member each week. Again, this prevents prolific builders from dominating this segment and making this segment longer than it needs to be.

05). Along with your image, please include the following details: The name of the kit; the company that produces the kit; any aftermarket that you have added, along with the brands and colors of paint used (if applicable).

06). The deadline for entries each week will be between the time the post goes up until an hour before Friday's show. Entries made after the deadline will not be shown.

07). Remember: If you wish to have a project highlighted during the show, the image and information must be shared in this thread, not a separate post on the Facebook page!

08). There will be a posted thread similar to this one on the ISM Forums. PLEASE post your work only in ONE of these. This will prevent us from having to sort through duplicate posts on both sites.

After the the live crew shows what they have been working on during the week, participating member's images and details will then be shown. This is an opportunity for you as members to be directly involved with the show. We hope that you will participate no matter your level of experience. This will not be a critique of anyone's work.

We thank you in advance for allowing us the opportunity to showcase your models! - Lee Larholt, Paul Bretland, and the rest of the ISM moderators and live crew. :-)

I changed to a metal mesh for the air box cover as I didn't like my dry brushed effort

This week I finished up my 1:25 Reveal '41 Chevy Pickup. Tamiya paints, oils for wood effect, AquaGloss final coat. A little bit of scratch built detail on the engine. Overall a fun and educational build. A few things I can improve on, but that's what the next build is for, right?

This is my Airfix 1/48 Stuka

I got the cockpit finished and glued the fuselage and wings together so it actually looks like a plane now :)

The cockpit is painted with Mr Hobby Aqueous and Vallejo Model Colour. It has had a oil wash with Abteilung oils and then weathered with Ammo Interior streaking and a few different pigments. The chips are done with pencil.

I also used the HGW seat belts. I have now taken to threading the belt through while the buckle is still on the PE fret and cut it off and file after. I also ignore the instructions when they say to thread two belts trough one buckle and just glue one behind the other instead. This has made it easier but it still takes time. They are well worth the effort though IMO

Following on from last week I added the decals to my Revell 1/48 Eurofighter Typhoon for the Warring Weather GB. I think I might actually get this finished in time - for a while I didn't think I would! Over the weekend I'll seal them in with a clear gloss and then work on the landing gear and a *little* weathering - the paint scheme was only used for one airshow season after all, so it was still looking pretty fresh at the end of it!

1/2700 Revell Imperial Star Destroyer (Zvezda rebox)

Work continues on the ISD. Got the bottom part together as well as the side runners. Lots of little details molded in. Very impressive kit. Also, it's enormous.

This is my tiny 1/43 Airfix Subaru Imprezza WRC '02.
Ultimate Primer
Humbrol paint
No clear coat just a good finish
Decals went on with Micro Sol & Set theyre NOT cartograph, they were very old and problematic and really let the car down. large amounts of carrier film trimmwed where possible.
Tamiya X22 for the finish 3 coats left for 24+ hours between each coat.
Polish with Tamiya compounds a few times!

Finally managed to get some time at the bench to do some modelling so made a start on the Bandai 1/144 AT-AT. The build stage is almost complete with only a few small parts left to fit and then I can get some primer on. Been a great build as you would expect being a Bandai kit with some really nice detail even for the scale.

The Viggen is getting close to being done. Applied the decals, most of them from the kit and some from Moose Repeblic AJ37 sheet, followed by a coat of Aqua gloss. Gave it a wash using a mix of Ultimate Dark Dirt and Concrete and sealed it in using MR Paints flat clear. Next up is the landing gear and weapons, and maybe a small base, hopefully I have time to get that done before the GB deadline.

Hi guys, i've been working on another couple of what-ifs, both Italeri 1/72 kits, an F-35A lightning II and a YF-23 Black Widow with 2D thrust vector control nozzles.
The F-35's nozzle needs a few bits of plastic sheet to be finished. YF-23 has had it's seams filled with Tamiya grey putty and will be sanded tonight while watching the show. :thumb1:
