Academy Decals

Post by Kevthemodeller »

:bash: :bash: :bash: :wall: :wall: :wall:

These things are rubbish, they curl up, are as stiff as board and Micro set/sol is as good as useless :wall: :wall:

Anyone else found this?

Oh yes indeed.

They're a nightmare. I didn't get them curling up but they activate with just a waft over the water and they're about an inch thick and won't go around corners or drop into details.

The only thing I found that got them to behave at all was Daco Red solution - and that took several applications. Microset/sol just run off the damn things.

You're not kidding mate :pistols:

I managed to get them half decent in the end (viewtopic.php?f=620&t=22890&start=20) but they're way from what I was hoping and expecting as the look nice on the backing :wall:

Blimey they did fight back didn't they??

I did some digging around when I was having similar problems with my A-10 and found that most people go after-market with decals on Academy kits.

I would have thought you should be ok with them Rob.

The decals in my kit just had the Academy logo on them so I assume they were produced in-house.

I made an Academy F4b/n gray ghost which came with cartograf decals which I used and had no issues at all.
