Post by Kingdan »

"WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING ON THIS WEEK?”

NEW! Starting this upcoming Friday, the Live! Crew will not only review your work, they will also pick their favorite build for the week. The entry with the most votes will win an ISM Goodie Bag! It is just one more reason to show us your work each week, so what are you waiting for?

**Open now until 1 hour before the show on Friday, June 22nd**

** PLEASE read ALL of the rules below carefully! **

Hello everyone! This post is being created to give you, as a member of ISM, the opportunity to share what you have been working on during the week on the Friday night show.

Please read the rules below in order to participate.

01). By participating in this thread, you are giving permission for the ISM live crew to share your work during the Youtube broadcast of the ISM Live "At the Bench" Friday show.
02). Please, only post your own work and not that of others.
03). Along with your image, Remember, post only one image per member each week. This will prevent prolific builders from dominating this segment and will prevent this part of the show from becoming too long, please include the following details: The name of the kit; the company that produces the kit; any aftermarket that you have added, along with the brands and colors of paint used (if applicable).
04). The deadline for entries each week will be between the time the post goes up until an hour before Friday's show. Entries made after the deadline will not be shown.
05). Remember: If you wish to have a project highlighted during the show, the image and information must be shared in this thread, not a separate post on the Facebook page!

This is an opportunity for you as members to be directly involved with the show. We hope that you will participate no matter your level of experience. This will not be a critique of anyone's work.

We thank you in advance for allowing us the opportunity to showcase your models! - Lee Larholt, Paul Bretland, and the rest of the ISM moderators and live crew.

I'll get the ball rolling this week.

Finally finished my first armour build - Tamiya's 1/35 Stug IV. Thanks to everyone who offered guidance along the way! I've enjoyed it from start to finish :th:

Decided to place my work in the forum as I am a little away in the last weeks/months and we should put more of our builds in this wonderful forum of ours :-)
Im still working on this resin figure from a Portuguese Brand , Modelix Studio , they are in 54 mm , and it is called 'Batalhão de Marinha , Angola 1915 ' (sorry Dan ... :thumb1: ) , in English will be Navy Batallion , Angola 1915 , they were an elite portuguese unit back to WW1 years, and they fight German incursions in Portuguese African Colonies in 1914/1915 even before the war started.

About this figures , they were painted with Vallejo model colour and also some from Andrea Miniatures , and still a lot of work to do , must work on their eyes and skin and some more details , to paint the figures and as s no colour photos avaible , only old ilustrations avaiable but a visit to the Navy museum in Lisbon last weekend was very good to clarify and decide how they should be painted , yes modelling and history toghether :-) , by the way if you visit Lisbon , this is a very nice museum to visit , specially if you like boatsand realted stuff ,also have some planes , it is very interesting !

SCALE: 120mm
MAKE: Verlinden
SUBJECT: B17 Bomber Crew Figure
PAINTS: Model Master enamels and acrylics for the body and gear, and Windsor & Newton Oils for the face
OTHER: Map and cigarette but on the tarmac at his feet (smile) both made from scratch. Oak wood base.

Built after watching the movies "Memphis Bell, and "Fortress" again. I love the sculpt of the model as it gives the 1000 mile stare of a veteran going up one more time knowing the odds are against him returning; but he does it because of duty, honor, country, and the commitment to his other airmen that will be there with him.

What we have here is a tiny 1/144 misrepresentation of the Ansett Airlines of Australia Douglas DC-9-30, VH-CZL, in 1979. The kit is a Fly models DC-9-30 reboxed by Red Roo Models with Hawkeye decals. The engines are Contrails JT9Ds with those vital extra two millimeters. The paints are Tamiya TS-26 and TS-83 with my own mix of Boeing Grey and Ansett Orange. While I'm here, a semi question. I hear everyone talking about priming in black but I find a coat of something metallic, say Tamiya AS-12, shows up blemishes better than gloss black. Maybe it's a matter of different scales.

I have been working on my Hasegawa's 1/72 F/A-18C Hornet “VFA-97 Warhawks” wich i have been working on and off for a long while. I used an Eduard PE set on this kit wich made me lose my mojo a couple of times. but the end is nearing now.

This is where i got to this week:

Hello all :) So I started the Revell/Zvezda Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner and wanted to do it in the Thomson (now TUI) livery.

I spent a long time online sourcing decals for this particular scheme. I found a website called 26Decals that do a large selection of airliner decals :) For this build you still have to do the three tone paint scheme yourself so I made a custom mix of Tamiya XF-2 and Tamiya X-14 for the lighter blue and for the darker blue I used Tamiya X-4. The tail was Tamiya XF-2, X-14 and a little bit of Aqueous violet into it to give it a slight purple hue. The curvy lines were easy enough using the Aizu tape sold at Ultimate. The whole aircraft is just Ultimate white....Lovely stuff, Not my words.

Then I started decals and luckily, unlike many aircraft there are not many decals to apply. All the doors, windows and logos went down perfectly. I can not fault the Decals :) Still the Engines to go and pretty much done.

Looks like it's been a week for figure painting... I finally got around to finishing off the crewman for my 1/35 Asuka Luchs. The trousers and cap were done in Andrea field grey, the jacket in various shades of Vallejo and the flesh was Andrea again. The uniform was given a couple of thin washes of black/brown mix to bring it all together. The jacket is just my own interpretation so isn't historically accurate but I'm pretty happy with the result.

That's this one done and heading to a shelf.

Managed to finish this Fujimi Porsche 917k during last weekend Le Mans race. I started it at the start of last years race with the goal of having it done durin the race, but when the decals turned out really bad I put it away and decided to repaint and decal the body this year. Except for the Shunko decals, a set of belts and the two 3d printed fins it´s build out of the box. The body was painted in Ultimate primer and then Zero paints 2k clear, the rest of the paints are mostly Tamiya, neutral grey and black. Not my best build, but for a 24 hour (sort of) build it will look good on the shelf.

Well here we go...
Current progress on my submission for the Bomber sig.
Academy b-29 in 1/72 scale. Most of the interior is now done, just some touch ups to do. Ultimate black primer and then a load of Tamiya colours on top. Might not be totally accurate but trying to get its to visually interesting inside. Spent an age detailing the cockpit then realised you can't see owt when it's closed up!

Image

And yes that is a huge seam line down the edge of the crew tunnel but it will be hidden when it's closed up ;)

Cheers

Evening folks,

Not much to further on this week but 1/72 M&S Lanc (Revell rebox) upper fuselage camo redone and looking better. Dauntless underside painted and mistakes corrected in the form of underside fuselage dive brake area painted red. No further updates for the next two weeks as the wife has booked a holiday which includes me and therefore I shall be pretty much plastered for the forseeable....... Pics may follow......

Thanks for looking.
