We have similar tastes, so this has kits I am drooling over
I second the Scalemates suggestion...here is me on there:
https://www.scalemates.com/profiles/mate.php?id=21311
Start a portfolio, add in kits, search their data base for kits, add friends it is just a good resource

See Digger my stash habits are that bad
Well you have seen my stash so I can't say a word  My last stash storage shelf is now full and starting to spill over. It's ridiculous  yet I'm not ready to stop :wall:
I really should go through and scan all the decals so I can print a replacement set cause they will be shot before I pull all the kits out to build if ever. :violin:

Drums01 has a huge stash of all sorts, even some armor ;) however my eye was drawn to the large scale sub and construction equipment. Of which I don't have, but I'm thinking about it
Sorry, But I have very little interest in the cars although every now and then I look at the formula one/s or a bike and wonder

My boxes are mostly armor and aircraft (lots of older Tamiya, Airfix, 1/35 military figures for the kits, and the like).

Did you notice the Swedish "S" Tank, the M88 Tank Recovery Vehicle, the Mercava, M109 and 110 howitzers, and some others on the shelves? I also have both the 1/72 Hasegawa Leopold and Morser Karl German guns. My 1/35 Academy Tiger with full interior is also waiting to be built.

Then there is the full inventory of A-4, A7D, A10, F5E, F14, F15, F16, F18, F104, F105, ME163, and more in 1/32 scale that are not shown.

I really need to inventory this stuff... thanks for the Scalemates suggestion, I may give it a go....
On the table or recently completed:

1/18 AV8-B Harrier - WIP
1/35 Churchill AVRE with SBG Bridge Diorama - DONE
75mm BMW R75 WW2 motorcycle with rider - DONE

Zvezda 1/72 Pe 8 "Stalin's plane" Still deciding whether I build it as the bomber as opposed to the VIP transport, a scale model of the Generalissimo is bizarre. Will Zvezda give us the Great Helmsman next...or a Schicklegruber. Heck there's a whole line of genocidal megalomaniacs that could be the subject of a villains hall of infamy (I am joking).
Revell/Matchbox 1/32 Spitfire MK xxii/xxiv, I need to sit down and make the paint list and then order the jolly things.
Academy 1/144 B 47 Stratofortress, waiting on developing BNM skills with the new metallics that are around (back in the day you had silver or gun metal).
Mister Craft Hobby 1/48 MiG 17 P. It's going to be the testbed for both my first airbrush and metallic paints.
MHN 1/48 Su 27. Waiting for space to free up on my work table.
Trumpeter 1/32 MiG 15 with Eduard PE and replacement canopy (which took me 5 years to source, from NZ of all places. Space considerations are pressing for glueing the fuselage halves together rather than the dismantled display state that leave the Nene engine exposed. I may just fit the exhaust nozzle in place and use the engine and tailpipe as a stand alone. Decisions decisions.
Academy 1/144 Su 25 Frogfoot. Waiting for some clear space.
Oh, and the Matchbox 1/12 Vincent Black Shadow I've carted around for 35 years.
This stash is about to get 200% larger over the next two weeks as orders begin to arrive. :th:

There's also the balsa Auster spotter/army cooperation plane that's been sitting around unopened for years. No one seems to carry dope for the tissue anymore due to its flammable/explosive properties. Does anyone have suggestions on what to use? The FW190 I built is still waiting for the tissue as well ho hum. :wall:

Digger303. Don't think so. After I quit trying to decipher the current political mess we're in (I put money on a Trump win when I heard his opponent was Hillary. Not to mention the alternative reality fact bending. I gave up after 12 months. It was twisting my antennae too much), she was glad to see me engage in something. So I guess that means you'll need to sweet talk your someone. Thanks again for the balsa dope link.

Add the following
Academy 1/48 MiG-29A
Academy 1/72 MiG-21 (early version)
Zvezda 1/72 Su-24 MR
Zvezda 1/72 MiG-31
And so the stash keeps on growing.

Digger303, the squashed ones arrived like that thanks to being posted in a manilla envelope and travelling from Germany. That ebay seller isn't getting repeat business from me. The kits themselves are garbage. I think their market is children under 10, if they could work out the dodgy instructions printed (poorly) on the back of the box. When it comes to EBay its caveat emptor time.

Good assortment and good selections....nothing to be ashamed about
Mine has grown exponentially and I am finding I am not so interested in many that I have
I wanted a Ducati bike kit today, but thought of all the other crap in my stash and put it back down
Maybe I need a stash house cleaning like Paul does

One of my kits is thanks to Paul and his stash cleaning. :thumb2:

I wish I had more patience, I could have waited and added a Zoukei-mura SWS to the stash. I just wish they would ship the darn thing. I also have a 1/32 Super Hornet by Revell-Germany that was pre-ordered. That is coming with a figure from The Munsters (why I have no idea). Then there are the minions from Ultimate thanks to the sale email campaign.

I guess I have pre-mature illustration. It is common for men my age- so I have been told.

No way near my entire stash but i think these are some of the intresting kits in there

Image
20180815_114302 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
This one arrived today
And i will be combining it with this one
Image
20180815_114312 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
I olan on building this as a TUSK II as that has the most stuff hanging on the tank and makes it the heaviest version of the Abrams
So that is a good excuse to put it on the heaviest tractor and trailer the US Army is using

Image
20180815_115651 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
The HQ-2 should make for a intrsting subject as it is basicly a Chinese copy of the SAM-2 from the Soviets
Even down to the truck
The Faun SLT will be build with this one
Image
20180815_115709 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
As they both are German

Image
20180815_115704 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
And then there is this tractor/trailer combo
I was looking for a T-55 at the time and this kit was not that much more expensive then just the tank
So now i have a tank with a tractor and trailer to move it around
On the bench
GB builds
1/35 Trumpeter M1132 ESV

Personal builds
1/35 Hobby Boss M1070 tractor with M1000 semi trailer and Meng M1A2 TUSK II Abrams
1/35 Takom V2 rocket with the Meillerwagen and SS100 tractor

Yes I thinks so too, it just looks more brutish and powerful where as the 1070 as some essence of early streamlining. Bit like today's modern cars..they all look the same and mostly not that eye catching. Must be a market for retro cars out there !

Re: What's hiding in your stash ?

Post by Timplastic »

Had a tidy up of the model room and sorted a load of kits to go back up into storage (mums loft) this must be under a 1/4 of what’s up there. Would love to get a pick of my whole stash but it’s all in boxes. Thinking that I need to order some more very large storage box’s

This is my sub stash, catching the over flow and accessory kits, figures and such like. It's filling up too :

OK, so late to the game, but here is most of my stash. Just kits, not extras.

Not quite sure where you live, well where your Moms loft is.... BUT I had a load of kits (about 20) in the loft at my old house, located in the UK West Midlands.... Not that hot here but some of them were trashed..

A lot the plastic was ok'ish... but the decals in most were all shot... they had yellowed very badly and there were visible cracks in them, just dried out I guess with the heat.

There were 4 or 5 where the plastic was so warped I just had to bin them. :eeek: :eeek:

They had been up there for about 6 years...

I moved from there in 98 and lots of stuff went into storage for 3 years (a mates garage then into a conservatory) the stuff that was stored there was all ok.

I moved again in 2016 and stuff went into storage in a container (20' x 10') with house furniture etc for 10 months...

Moved into our new house this October and amongst the first stuff I pulled out the container was my models, these seem OK.. BUT the IKEA furniture (MALM Drawer units) had warped.... so it must have been hot in there too!! :eeek: :eeek:

Just a heads up... lofts get HOT, HOT, HOT and could damage your stash!!

The blackbird is a big model in 1:72, the 1:48 must be massive!

My SWMBO declared a reorganization was needed plus a spring clean. The upshot of that was my minor stash ( overflow ) containing full kits, figures, tracks, wheels and other such accessories had to be relocated to another room. So looking for the silver lining here. I went through them all checking them into scalemates and being generally more organized.

Wish I could get them all into the on spot  still they are now closer to the cave... :D

One or two.... It fits it into 1/2 cubic metre of space...just. Doesn't sound like much, but you can fit a lot of kits into that. It's the major stash that more of a problem at 1.8 cubic metres about 340 kits in all. With almost as much in upgrades and such. It's my burden :bash: still many more have a bigger problem so I feel much better after telling myself that...
