Ism Friday's night live at the bench what have you been working on for *July 20th*

Post by Kingdan »

"WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING ON THIS WEEK?”

NEW! Starting this upcoming Friday, the Live! Crew will not only review your work, they will also pick their favorite build for the week. The entry with the most votes will win an ISM Goodie Bag! It is just one more reason to show us your work each week, so what are you waiting for?

**Open now until 1 hour before the show on Friday, July 20th**

** PLEASE read ALL of the rules below carefully! **

Hello everyone! This post is being created to give you, as a member of ISM, the opportunity to share what you have been working on during the week on the Friday night show.

Please read the rules below in order to participate.

01). By participating in this thread, you are giving permission for the ISM live crew to share your work during the Youtube broadcast of the ISM Live "At the Bench" Friday show.
02). Please, only post your own work and not that of others.
03). Along with your image, Remember, post only one image per member each week. This will prevent prolific builders from dominating this segment and will prevent this part of the show from becoming too long, please include the following details: The name of the kit; the company that produces the kit; any aftermarket that you have added, along with the brands and colors of paint used (if applicable).
04). The deadline for entries each week will be between the time the post goes up until an hour before Friday's show. Entries made after the deadline will not be shown.
05). Remember: If you wish to have a project highlighted during the show, the image and information must be shared in this thread, not a separate post on the Facebook page!

This is an opportunity for you as members to be directly involved with the show. We hope that you will participate no matter your level of experience. This will not be a critique of anyone's work.

We thank you in advance for allowing us the opportunity to showcase your models! - Lee Larholt, Paul Bretland, and the rest of the ISM moderators and live crew.

.
AMT Anakins Pod Racer

Pod is now completely painted

Decals were goosed apart from the one for the nose that would not sit right,so painted the stripes on the back then masked of the nose the best I could and sprayed over the decal.

Added some Ultimate Clay washes to the base (Rust then dark dirt) to give it some colour, still has to be dry brushed.

Engines are also painted and ready for gloss.. Probably see it shortly on Facebook ;)

Hope you like it

This week I have been mainly working on you guessed it the church, bring the different parts together to get it to primmer stage. One more wall and column to be added which will be done by Saturday. Filming the series is now becoming differcuilt due to the size of it, what was i thinking....happy modelling all.

Monogram 1/25 1966 Pontiac GTO build for Muscular Dystrophy Awareness "Muscle Car" group build.
Pretty much box stock except for the wheels, which came from a '67 GTO kit.
Paintwork is Dupli-color Perfect Match Pure Green Pearl, Molotow Chrome marker, and Testors Wet Look clear lacquer
Engine wired and plumbed using .022 solder, and ribbon cable wire for heater hoses.
GTO badge is a reproduction interior badge from Yearone.

Took a shot a something smaller than I usually work with. On the go at the same time. A few small things left to paint and then some weathering.
Left is the Tamiya Type 166 Schwimmwagen Tamiya Dark Yellow and NATO green over Ultimate black primer.
Right is Tamiya M151A2 MUTT with TOW missile launcher. My first attempt at the MERDC camo used by US forces in the late 70s, early 80s. Tamiya XF65 Field Grey XF69 NATO Black, Mig Middlestone and Tan all over Ultimate black primer. The middlestone and black are brush painted. Airbrushing lines that small failed miserably for me.
Thank you all. Have a good weekend.

Hello Dan and the Crew,
This is my Meng Toon Tiger I, Aside from the added co-axial MG barrel in the turret, its totally out of the box.
Primed in Ultimate Gelb, - basecoat and details in MIG acrylics and weathered with Abteilung oils and pigments.

I'm surprised how much i enjoy these silly little things - I usually lean towards the "Rivet Counter" end of the model spectrum, but for some reason I find them amazingly appealing to work on.

I won't be able to catch the Live show tomorrow, but I'll take this opportunity to wish all the crew and the community all the best and a good enjoyable weekend.
Derek

I took a bit of a break from the MiG-25 and built a little Meng kit for Scott's bomber build. I still hope to get the B1-B built, but just in case here is a little plane I am calling "Pinch Hitter".

Image

I primed it using Ultimate Gloss Black and then used Vallejo Metal Colors. I used Dark Aluminum on the body and Exhaust Manifold for the engine accents. Vallejo Model Air Red was used for the other accents. The only modification to the kit was to drill out the gun barrels. I did that using a small electric drill and nerves of steel. Ok, that last part isn't true. As far as kit mods go drilling out gun barrels is pretty easy. It was a fun little kit to build and a nice distraction. I did decide to leave off any other markings as the kit only came with stickers and I just can't put stickers on a kit- ever. Nothing in my stash of extras was the right size, so I left her blank.

I really like the Vallejo Metal Colors, they are a little more forgiving than Alclad but still give a nice metal finish. Anyone wanting a nice metal finish should at least consider them.

Evening folks.

Work progressing slowly on the 1/72 M&S rebox of the Revell Lanc and 1/32 Trumpy Dauntless using all the materials seen in the pic which are available from www.umpretail.com.

Lanc: I had painted the fuselage camo in Tamiya acrylics but didn't like the finish so I'm half way through repainting with MRP's - much better job! All the fiddly bits primed and painted so next step is sealing everything ready for weathering. I know you don't need to but I'll feel safer given that I'm going to use oils to weather for the first time :thumb1:

Dauntless: Sea Blue upper now fixed and I'm slightly happier - watch this space for further amendments (wheels are dry fitted) Weapons and aerials etc ready for painting.

Thanks for looking.

For tonight I shall be working on the 1/32 HK models, Dornier Do335A, which was bought for me as part of the ISM Birthday club. This is a big model, did I tell you this is a big model? with lots parts and as such has to be built in sub-assemblies due to it's sheer size, I did tell you it was BIG? anyways it's rather large and if I continue, it won't fit back in the box.

Not much bench time this week, with my mam visiting from Spain. Making decent progress with the decals on my Tamiya Tom's SC430 Lexus.

First time using Cartograph Decals and now I know what all the fuss is about...Laying down really well directly onto painted surface...#nogloss :th: The large areas are made up of multiple decals and they have all welded together really nicely, using only Set/Sol so should be perfect when I hit them with Solvaset!
