Post by Twokidsnosleep »

I am new here just starting out with this stuff so be gentle :shifty:

Going to start Po’s X-Wing kit by Bandai
Not sure how Po fits into this space craft :

but that is not my place to wonder why I just build, do or die

Isn't this the one you did in a smaller scale a while back (1/144?) with a water plume thingy or have I got that mixed up?

You give a 3 foot cat a 2 foot box and he/she will cram themselves in that box!! If you do not believe me I can send pictures..... We have 2 cats and boxes. They are the best toy investments you can make.

Cool on Po's X-wing :th: :cheers2:

Well interesting Mr Murphy mentions that F1 build
Basically everything except the wheels are in a cupboard having some part dry from a Gravity 2K Clear

So, I sat for twenty minutes and banged the wing sections of the X-Wing together
Image
Absolute dream to assemble, just like clicking in LEGO.
My only complaint is the engine covers are in a weird grey plastic that looks like ABS or something. So I am doubtful they will hold paint at all  I might make new engine nozzles in metal

I have a ton of this 5% window film and plan on applying it to shade the cockpit.
I have an absolute S-Load, so if anyone wants some let me know

very cool looking Scott.
I primed mine prior to assembly. Made for a bit of a tight fit and a touch of sanding but no looking of paint in corners I could get in weird angles. That Murphy's Law thing :).

So I have been having fun with this Bandai kit this weekend
It slides together very nicely and I have thrown in some detail painting rather than just using the decals

Love this display base shown ...maybe  I could fire up my scroll saw and hack out a shape :

Really enjoying the fit and finish of a Bandai compared to a Revell from somewhere warm and sulphury

Did some more Tamiya X-14 sky blue on the wings for blue three

Sunday night report
I have made some good progress on the X-Wing

The blue and grey insignia stripes are done and I have been adding engine detail paint inside the wings
Some weathering with Ak burnt jet engine pigments and a tiny bit of MLT

Image

Image

Image

Also did some canopy work with some 5% window car tinting...took a couple tries but I think I have figured how to make it work

Image

Image

Image

There is not a stitch of glue anywhere on this model at this point; I could take it all apart if needed.

Working on a base for her, this is my inspiration

So plywood circle base, maybe whip out the scroll saw and cut up a Rebellion insignia :

Then I thought, what about some cool blue LED light  ...so just a rough test
