Hello from an Aussie!

Hi all,

Came across this site thanks to Paul's videos on the Tamiya LCR Honda RC211V '06 model, after finally biting the bullet and getting back in to scale models 25 years or so after my last build, back in my early teens.

When I was single digits and a very young teenager, Lego and scale models were part of my childhood, although I only glued together the models and put the decals on; I very rarely painted, and my patience was non-existent.

As an adult in the last few years, I had gotten back in to buying and building large Lego sets. Over the last couple of months I had the idea of getting back in to scale models and made the mistake of watching a lot of YouTube videos, which only fueled the fire.
As much as Lego is an amazing product with some great sets for adults, it just lacked the detail and time required that a scale model would.

So, last week, I spent a lot of money and bought an entirely new workshop from scratch as I had nothing left over from when I was a kid, and bought some sets I knew I wanted to make (all Tamiya kits):
Porsche 911 GT2 Road Version Club Sport
Ducati Desmosedici GP4
Yamaha YZR-M1 '04
And a locally sourced Honda LCR RC211V '06

Motorcycles are my passion, but I also have the odd car crush, and figured it was a good way to start learning skills I never used as a kid to make models, before getting in to the motorcycles.

Anyway, I look forward to chatting and being a part of the community, and learning from everyone, and sharing my build progress and results!
