Started this build, I forgot to take many pictures so far unfortunately





This is my first build really ever using photo-etch, and I really love much detail it gives. I did bigger up the light covers in the front but I'll fix them

Half tank half boat. Interesting subject, I can't remember seeing anyone build one of these, I don't know much (anything!) about them, I hang my head in shame.

I love a AFV build anytime, but something thats a bit off the piste so to speak, excites me
If this is your first time with PE, you have done a blinding job.
Once you pick up PE, its kind of a irresistible urge to do it again and again. I find PE seriously brings out the worse swearing ever heard on this planet

Nice one there are a few tails of these attacking american forces in Korea or Vietnam cant quite remember anyways etch is always a challenge until you get used to it but it wont take you long and it wont take long . Nice work so far.

Oh don't be ashamed there's so many vehicles out there it's hard to keep track of even a quarter of them

I've gotten the upper and lower hulls attached along with all the other little bits and bobs attached. Kit goes together extremely well, probably will order a couple more of these kits as I really like the look of the vehicle I must say.




Next up will be primer and then the base color

Got the base color laid down today.

I decided to use Migs 4BO Russian Green instead of my Vallejo because it's a bit lighter and it looks closer to the modern Russian Green that was seen on these and other vehicles.

It didn't spray as well as Vallejos but nothing the trusty Apex couldn't handle




Next up with be gloss and then decals

Interesting subject, I can picture you at the bench with your fur hat on, Russian anthem on the stereo, humming away as you add to the Red Army on the shelf!

To be fair youre almost on the money with that! I do listen to a style of music called SovietWave music while I model and I do indeed have a Ushanka cap

Nice - never considered cosplay model making. And at least your Ushanka will keep your ears warm...

It's all great fun when all you have to do is cut it out and stick it on, and maybe a couple of bends here and there...but when you have to start making multiple and whole assemblies from the stuff, you will question whether you're being punished.

I like PE too except when it is smaller than a match head...bigger the better

To be honest, when it's that small, I'm not sure it adds all that much to the finished item, unless you're looking at it under a magnifier or such or you're an expert on the vehicle in question, most people don't notice it.
