Heller 1/24 Jaguar XJ220

Hello!

So this is one of my favourite cars - I was 5 when it was first released and my uncle works for Jaguar (he even got to ride in one once)!

I saw this kit on eBay and had to get it. According to Scalemates, it was originally italeri, then reboxed as Revell, Testors and finally Heller. It doesn't have opening headlights like the Tamiya though.

I made the Heller Peugeot 206 and its very similar to Airfix cars as I guess they were under the same ownership at the time.

This was a rebox so it seems a lot more like some of the other 90s supercars I've made like the Revell Diablo and F50. Pleasingly detailed.

There were some pretty big seams to fill with putty but it looks pretty nice I think.

This was one of my favourite cars as a kid, I loved it in the maroon colour. Great progress so far!

Thanks! I had a silver toy XJ220 as a child so there wasn't any question what colour I would choose. It does look good in maroon or dark green though.

I've now finished the interior. I tried using felt for the carpet and I think it's turned out nicely.

It's quite a fiddly model at times and I've complained about the Heller decals before.
