Airfix 1/144 Saturn 1B Apollo 7

Post by Lee »

OOB Airfix 1/144 Saturn 1B Apollo 7

This is my first ever model, which I completed on my return to modelling after nearly 30 years a couple of years ago (I was 13 the last time I did one!). Just thought I'd post this for posterity :)

This brings back a lot of memories from a few decades back. I loved this model but could only look at it from the shop window. Thanks for sharing. Nice looking build mate.

Cheers

Cheers Jim - It was a good way to get back into modelling. Got nowhere to put it though...lol. It's in a box in sections at the moment :(

Nice work! I am interested to know about how you applied the white paint and what brand it was. I have been starting to paint interiors for armored AFVs. I am learning that white is not an easy color to master. Any info. would be helpful.

Cheers Russell - the white paint is Tamiya XF2 and was sprayed on with several light coats and built up slowly over a base of XF80, all paints were a 50/50 mix with X20A. And yes, white is A PITA.....lol
