weekend Bandai AT-ST

I did this some time ago for my son (big star wars fan)
Its an ootb build with simple paintwork unlike Mr B,s brilliant camo version
these kits are great fun to snap together and can be built quickly unless you start to change things.
some details quickly picked out on the inside


not too bad




the detail on this little chewie is very good


primer







small round base with some rocks and a pool of water




simple leopard skin wash and a brown base coat


mixture of static grass and scatter and some stones (I use my own mixtures now but Lukes stuff is excellent and very reasonably priced.



drying outside after using isopropyl and PVLA in a sprayer to lock things down


dry and on the bench



added a small dry root from the garden and some stones and Aqua Magic for "realistic water affects" but I wouldn't recommend it as it shrinks.



The base was actually an old kitchen clock that stopped working that's what I told the Mrs anyway. It had a coat of green paint but I prefer the wood myself but the customer (my son) wanted green so green it is. I used different Mig washes for the green slimy look. If you look at the last photo you can just make out the fogging in the pool, not sure why. Maybe adding layers causes the clouding









and that's it all done. I enjoyed doing this kit so much I got the AT-AT for my stash

Beautiful work on the kit and the base.

I loved the AT-STs in Jedi. Those effects still stand up today because thy were so beautifully shot. Any fool with enough cash can create a CGI bonanza but it was real art back in 83.

just finish mine a few weeks ago for my son too. Really fun to build. Was my first bandai kit. I love the base you made ! I regret not doing one my self. But it still looks nice in my son's Star Wars theme bedroom, beside the y and x wing lego.

Thanks guys Bandai make some great kits and they are really quick to build, I think I only used a spot of glue on this one.
My son has a huge Lego collection, he's been collecting or I have since he was born 20 years ago. I just love Lego, one of the best toys ever invented.

they don't make them like they used to do they mate. I remember going to see New hope and hid under the seat with my mate to see the second viewing
