Italeri Triumph 3HW 1.9 scale Bobber

got this kit knowing it was going to be as bad as the Harley in the way of parts not fitting or miss alinement but its worst, the sprues are covered in flash and seam lines that all need attention before any assembly is done So I have decided this time to build as much as I can and mod a few parts before adding colour.
On this bike the frame comes in four parts and the engine goes in as its assembled so I made a couple of changes to allow me to work on the engine and fit it later. The engine is small and should be fun to do, I have some AK True metal paints to try out that can be buffed, dry brushed or air brushed so some spoons needed to see how they look. The Tank will need some work as you can see from the photos, I haven't chosen a theme yet but have something in mind
The front fork assembly not as complex as the Harley forks and only has one central spring that doesn't line up so some adjustment needed I changed the front fork support for a 2mm brass threaded rod and 2mmID tube and this has really helped sort out the wobbly front end, this will be shortened later in the build.
The seat is pretty basic, black rubber and the seat frame has plastic rods instead of springs for support so some work to be done her also.
On the Triumph the wheel spokes are a lot thinner than the Harley so 0.5mm brass rod and 0.5mm aluminium tube were used, 20 spokes per side x4

As with these old kits the front fork assembly is very weak and miss aliened so I fitted a 2mm ID tube and 2mm brass threaded rod to pull it all together.

Had a busy few weeks so not much done to the Triumph. The wheels are finished and ready for paint and the seat has been covered in a thin black leather.
I changed two pipes on the engine to chromed copper tubing and I'm working on doing the same to the exhaust if I can get it to bend slightly on the end.
At the moment I'm working on the engine and carburettor checking the fit and cleaning up or changing the pipework. Nothing fits correctly on the bike and its covered in flash. The wheels are both off centre and one of the front wheel guard supports is too long. Still undecided on whether to use them and what colour the bike will be
Another problem is the front fork spring, the two supports are not in the right place so the spring is crooked
Hopefully get a couple of hours bench time tonight, thanks for looking guys
