Aoshima knight rider

Hi everyone I’ve just got the new aoshima knight rider model and want to finish it with the best shine possible, I normally build rally cars so never normally fussed with sanding and polishing, what would be the best technique and order to achieve a good finish also I don’t airbrush models I’m only using spray cans at the minute

Hopefully one of the car guys will be along to offer some advice, but if you're in the UK it might be worth checking if Halfords have a spray can gloss coat you might be able to use.

I'd check on the internet before buying to see if anyone else has used it on kits as you don't want to risk the gloss ruining the kit; or try it on a test kit or scrap plastic to see how it reacts.

Ok. I will jump in and take a stab
Automotive 2K clear is the absolute best stuff to use for a gorgeous clear coat on a vehicle
You can get specific modelling ones from Splash Paints, Gravity Spain paints or Paul’s new line of ‘ProScale Paints’ too

Now the problem is it is dangerous and needs very good ventilation and protection, so spray booth
If you are not airbrushing, that poses a challenge

I have used a spray can version of 2k clear that was excellent off of Amazon
I am an airbrusher so I found I could make runs too easy with this, but if your spray can skills are good and you are careful…
