They were "agitated" by a stiff toothbrush during the soak. I can try putting a drop of fluid in a few of the spots to see if they react?

Put the tracks on the tank and see if there are any visible areas that need sorting. A bit of brown or umber should do the trick.
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

    Plan B :)
I've brushed burnishing fluid onto the briight spots to see if they change colour. If they don't then its plan B!!!

That is weird too after forcibly pushing fluid into those untouched spots ...still no reaction.:

Sometimes you just have to admit defeat and assault the objective another way.

Or, as the US Marines say - we don't retreat, we just advance in another direction :pistols:

Well, went to put the tracks on tonight - and they were too tight - by one link. So I made two more links, gave them a good scrub in warm, soapy water, rinsed them thoroughly, dried them and popped them in the fluid.
        After 1 minute:

        After 8 minutes:

Same as before, it worked in places. I've no idea why, unless the new owners have changed the release agent? Anyways - as with the main body of the tracks all the bright spots got a coat of Red Brown.
        Image

When that had dried the links were added to the main body of the tracks and the tracks closed up. The decals were added to the hull and turret. So all that remains to be done is a coat of matt clear coat to seal the decals and a little weathering (rusting) to the combat track sections hanging off the turret.

Still working on the commander figure for this one. The instructions say the jacket should be a semi-gloss black - but it didn't look right!! Photo's of Heer Schwerer Panzer (not the SS ones) show commanders wearing a cammo pattern jacket similar to the vehicles colouring - which makes sense if you think about it. Not sure if I got the pattern right - I feel the colour "splodges" may be too big - but it looks 100% better.

            Lovely work !
I think the only thing you may need to improve with the face is the mouth. Because the skin color to me is perfect.
