Meng BMW R1250 GS ADV

As I thought it did turn out to be a nice model, but I use that word loosely. This is most certainly a desk toy push together model, which is exactly what Meng sell in the pre painted form. It does look good but it's most certainly not a highly detailed kit I thought it would be. The push fits, heavy mould lines on just about every part, the monkey metal screws, lack of them and the wrong type, push pins out of alignment. It's not even close to Tamiya's large scale bikes.

Would I recommended the kit, if you want a simple push together kit, don't mind mould lines and not too fussed about detail, then yes. If you're looking for a highly detailed kit, that you can throw some real detail at it without having to reinvent it, then no I wouldn't. Personally I bought it as I've got the same bike in life, mines a later model so slight differences, but no other manufacturer makes a kit. I'm happy with it, but I'll not be buying anymore Meng bikes, not unless they up their game considerably.

Still, it looks far better than a regular MENG assembled toy, because of your wonderful modeling skills.

And much like the Tamiya kits, which are in most part the standard to compare, it has good proportions.

Your nice color modulations and shades look spot on.

Almost like you had one to compare it with (smile).

I was of help to get the modulations right, and to be fait to Meng some of the mould lines are where castings lines are

Fella's I've got and have made Meng armour which was good. I've got their Fokker Dr1 the Ex WNW kit, they did after all make all WNWs kits, but I don't believe WNWs would have accepted the moulds at the stage Meng went into production. This is the first bike I've had not looked at a car of theirs as yet. As mentioned there wont be another bike, unless it's just too good/rare or they up the game.
