Got lucky - browsing the dread site evilbay I found a 1/48 Avenger by Academy for silly money (£10 inc p&p!!) because the box is FUBAR. Should be here by the 10/10. :)

I'd like to boost this thread a bit to see if there is still interest. I know I haven't been building much in the last year or so but I've been working on cleaning up my backlog of unfinished kits so I can start fresh next year. What a laugh, but still...

 TBH I love Tamiya. It suits my MO. Call me lazy but I like new tool kits from manufacturers who know how to engineer a kit for the builder. Their 1/32 Corsair and Mustang are absolute miracles of engineering. The inner wing section of the Corsair is possibly the most beautifully designed sub-assembly I have ever seen.

I'm in your camp, life is too short to mess with horrible old ill fitting kits and the stash is never going to get built if I don't impose some restrictions upon myself.

True. I need to have a purge too.
However - if we go for a Tamiya theme I just got hold of their 1/48 IL-2!!

            :cheers2:
True. I need to have a purge too.
However - if we go for a Tamiya theme I just got hold of their 1/48 IL-2!!
            Oh very nice.
I was thinking of building another sub.
Purge is just a dirty word...

            :cheers2:

I haven’t even looked for something yet, but yes finding a Tamiya in the stash is easy

Might be a nice idea - just as a mark of respect for the man.
