Thanks. Sanded, polished sprayed. Pretty easy.

Sanding cloth. Tamiya red polish. Mask the all but the vent, respray.
Came up great.


Most decals on. The numbers need fixing. Decals were all ancient. From 4 or 5 different sources.
Many crumpled on application, so the scheme was constantly changing.
End result looks about right for mid nineties.

Thank you. Check the seat. I used the process described to do your vinyl roof
Thin cement painted on, then a short bristle thick brush pushed into the wet cement. Then applied the thick black acrylic with the same brush, continuously pushing it into the drying paint.
You could lightly sand it and rub it smooth to get a plastic sheen.




Most parts sitting on for a dry fitment test. Fairing lightly polished, needs more curing.

Scratch built dash is on. Fixed up the steering damper. Cleaned up the switches that the street bike had on the handles.

Gotta fashion the foot controls as the kit parts were blobs. Last thing to do.

I'm a freelance Quality Manager/Engineer/Dogs-body (ISO 9001, product Quality, that kind of thing), doing the internal audits, looking after the business processes, supplier assessments, and doing odd jobs for about 5 different engineering companies. I work mostly from home, however each year they all need to have external audits to keep their certification - so I have to travel back down south and manage it for them (and do all the prep-work in the weeks before hand). What makes it worse is they seem to come in batches. I've had two separate audits for two companies in the last two weeks, and a couple more earlier in May. I have to admit I'm rather knackered. I should be working today, but instead I've been catching up on the various forums I belong too LOL!

How could we not appreciate what you've done? Both in terms of your work on the kit but also the way you have posted in such detail about the build. Its great stuff.

Thanks fellas. I've never really thought of myself as bringing enjoyment to the forum. Just happy to post. But I do also enjoy being a part of this community. Really glad some of you have such an interest in my builds.

And with that said, I'm calling this done. Stand whipped up from some scrap acrylic, and designed for the local hobby shop window, aka my display cabinet.

I will take some proper photos tomorrow, for now here's the last of the detailing pics.

I call it my display window, but what it is is I've built up a relationship with the local hobby shop. About 5 years ago they were revamping their display window and I just offered a few of my models. It's now at the stage where I practically build each new model specifically to fit in the window. I did it because I wanted to support the shop, I like to go to a hobby shop that has a nice display of models, and I get to have a nice display cabinet for my work as there's too many models to put in my home. A side effect is I sell some and people contact me to build things for them.

The store manager tells me that almost every day he gets comments on how nice the window is and offers to buy certain models. I sometimes just stand around watching people look at and talk about the models.

It's funny, but my friend is neighbours with the guy who owns the hobbyco chain, about 5 stores in Sydney, and he shows him all the work I'm doing to his shop. I have been thanked for my efforts, but that's not why I'm doing it.....
