Opinions please

Post by Paul »

Have a look at the paintschemes on the bottom of the instructions, I can't decide between number 1 or two, I prefer 2 for its subtle faded look but the first one keeps calling to me cos it looks cool.

Tough choice! Between 1 or 2 I'd choose 2 I think, for the same reasons you said. If it was me though, I'd choose 3 as I've never seen a model based on an Eritrean Air Force plane. If I was you and had some spare cash I'd probably go and buy a few more kits and do ALL the schemes! Does that help at all?

Erm sort of Phil ha ha I would love to do all the schemes but at £75 a kit that would prove expensive :eeek:

I love the blue colours so its defo one of those, I'm thinking the more faded blue in this colour

Or to make it even harder, the colours, given in the instruction sheet are for mr hobby paint which I have, but they look to vibrant to me, would rather get the akan paint set. Decisions decisions.

I too would go for C if given the choice of all of them.

But between A and B, I'd go for B

I think I would go for A and you would always have the option of weathering it down if it is too in your face. Reading the background on the scheme it says this was based on an aircraft fresh out of an major upgrade, so the photos the scheme are based on are probably show the aircraft fresh out of the paint shop. You could model it as it was after some use.
On the Bench

1/48 Revell SH-60B Seahawk (on hold)
1/72 Matchbox Supermarine Walrus II (Decalling)
1/48 Hasegawa Idolm@ster F-16C (Decals complete)
1/35 Hobbyboss ZSL-92 IFV (Building)

It's got to be weathered hasn't it, a Russian jet looking like new just isn't right :thumb2:
