1/48 GWH TBD-1 Devastator

Post by DC87 »

This evening I made a start on the cockpit of the Great Wall Hobby TBD-1 kit.

Very nice detail - I did a review here :http://intscalemodeller.com/viewtopic.php?f=98&t=3415

Not sure on the cockpit colour as little reference exists, if anyone knows please post below.

Cool plane and you're off to a great start :th: It seems that most of the US WW2 navy planes had a chromate green interior, so to me you have the colour right.

Dan, great start mate, I think going with Chromate green for a US WWII plane would be a safe bet as well.

cheers

Nice to see you starting this one buddy :th:

Most of the information I found for carrier aircraft in the pacific was the green interior so I think you've got it down.

Nice start, will be following. I'm itching to build something and I just dug my GWH Devastator out of the pile and was fondling the plastic yesterday. I placed an order for a set of VT-5 decals from Yellow Wings. What scheme are you doing?
