Here's where I'm at so far. I made the monumental mistake of priming BEFORE gluing, and also used some cheap primer, hence the dark look. Modelling on a budget does have its downsides. I hope I can rescue what looks to me at the minute, a bit of a disaster. But hey ho! I do like a challenge!

Good job I do.... :bash: :wtf:

The cockpit was a snug fit, but the vents were quite awkward. The kit provides the option of open or closed vents, I've opted for closed, mainly because they fitted better.

Quick build update. Not going that well to be honest. Starting to come across some dodgy fitting issues. But soldier on we must!

Yeah some of those look a bit smelly.

Does the kit come in 2 colours of plastic or have you primed some parts?

I stupidly primed some parts before assembly, which has caused me no end of problems. Only part I've enjoyed so far is building the cockpit. Been downhill since :wall:

Modelling is always a learning curve and I can imagine your disappointment but these things happen and we all learn from ours and others problems. That's what is so good with this forum...a trouble shared actually helps us all.

Hope you get the gap sorted without too much trauma...it does look a good achievement so far. I was at Fairford when two of these had that famous mid-air and always thought it looked a nice aircraft so will look forward to seeing your progress. :th:

Just a quick update. Struggling to find the time at the min due to work commitments, but managed to do a little more. Still not happy with the kit but trying to make the best of it!

Hopefully get some more done tonight. Cheers :)

Only just found this build! Love the scheme you've chosen, although I do like the splinter scheme you found too!

How did you handle all those gaps? Was there a lot of filler and sanding involved? I was "this" close to buying this kit the other day. Not sure after seeing your fit issues. I'm sick to death of filler at the moment! (Thanks Airfix harrier!).

Great work on the cockpit, the instrument panels look great, kutgw! :th: :th:

Cheers mate. Wouldn't recommend this kit to anyone. Gone together just awful. The cockpit is the only part I enjoyed. As for the gaps, I'm not that skilled in the use of filler and sanding to be honest, I'd probably make it worse!

Greetings to a fellow Cod Head! :hi:

Would that be Hewins? I find that they can be quite expensive. The stall on Grimsby Market is very good. Usually get a good discount when you buy multiple items. Boyes have a small collection of kits at good prices :cheers2:

Haha! No, I'm from the right side of the river (North!) but my work sometimes takes me across to your side. As there's only hobbycraft and boyes over here I'm always on the lookout for shops.

Yeah, I found Hewins to be a bit expensive but I figure if we don't use the shops they'll all disappear!

What day is the market on in Grimsby?

Cheers, I'll have to check the market out one weekend.
