At the moment im building a Dio with 3 Tigers in it! ive pretty much done the vehicles except some small detail stuff.























I will keep adding to this. I need to get decals on the crew, photo etch belted ammo and dp the map board and put a bucket on one of the vehicles. Then its the Dio.

cheers Lee, having served in the army for 22 years i've seen how clogged up AFV can become. The one tiger with the tow chain out as the heaviest weathering. The story will tell you its been bogged in and needed pulling out.

I was worried about going to OTT but i hope ive got it right.

Make sure some of the figures get a liitle mud on their Boots! Just to "pair" them to the story!

Yeh thanks for the comments guys, once i get the decals on the figures i will be using a thin black oil wash on them and get some mud on the boots and trousers.

Amazing, just amazing. Nice one mate. How long did it take you to get these three put together? I did 16 years myself in the army then was a police officer down in Essex for 4 years after that. The only thing I ever saw covered in mud was me. No tanks for me. Lol

this will be a massive diorama, great idea if done right heavy weathering does not look unrealistic at all, you did it right for sure!

Hi guys, sorry I haven't answered back! Been on holiday. Thanks for all the comments, I wasn't sure if I'd done it quite right with the heavy weathering (first bash at it).

The tigers are all from Tamiya. Two are late production models and one early.

I've been flat out busy with work and other commitments but I managed to get some progress last night.





Having had experience working with armour in my past job. I decided to go with just belted ammo. By linking the belted ammo up its far quicker than using tins which only holds 200 rounds.

I used that ammo kit only the one time.
I fill the tin with putty or something (I don't remember exactly now) then put the rounds on top.
It made it look like it was full or near to it.
Then I glued the can to the rack for the MG.
The amount of putty you need, or filler would only be minuscule.
Why waste the can... they look kinda cool. You did a good job knocking them together.

It was a nightmare to get that tin together and I'm building it in a travel lodge room. So my kit is very limited! That's a great idea about the putty

I weathered all 14 figures last night and done the decals for 3 of the crew ( officers) took ages to do. I'll get some pics up when I get home.

Right now that I'm back into modelling again. I've decided to do a bit more work on my tigers! I think they needed toning down.



I used the light mud wash to tone the red colour mud on my models.
