1/32 Trumpeter F4F-4

Hello all, i could really use some help here. I have been working on this model on and off for the last several months and am at the point were I am putting the wing sections together. The problem that I have run into is with the guns. the kit guns are seriously recessed in the wings and I don't believe this to be accurate. I know that the dash 3 with only four guns has the inboard set protruding from the leading edge and the outboard set almost flush with the leading edge. All of the pictures that I can find don't show the leading edge of a dash four so that I can see if the guns protrude or not. Does anyone know the answer to this question or have any suggestions? thanks to all for help!
