Revell 1/48 scale UH-34D Helicopter

This Helicopter entered service just after the Korean war, over 2100 were built between 1953 and 1970. The most famous role played by this particular helicopter was during the early space race years, retreiving the Mercury capsules after splash down. The Mercury capsule was right at the upper weight limit of the UH-34. The UH-34 was the last of the piston powered military helicopters. In civilian life it was used in a number of different roles such as airport transportation and firefighting and could carry up to 16 passengers and crew.

Painted using the hairy stick and Model Master and Humbrol enamel paints. Finished with Testors dull coat. I used thinned down Daler Rowney oil paint for the wash.
The only real issue I ran into building this kit is the decal for the nose door, it would not conform to the round shape of the nose so I decided to leave it out and instead added the number 32 from my own stash of decals. Overall not a bad kit to build.
