Well I have finally finished the build
Looking forward to the paint job
I made a few alterations with some photo etch. My first time using this stuff.
Made my own tow cables using electric wire

Any primer will do the job, i like alclad on metal parts myself but ak/ammo or vallejo work fine too

Id also guess that barrels an aber.

Looks great bud. I like all the tidbits that you've added.
That tow rope looks pretty sweet, I like the battle damaged mud flaps too. That will look cool once she's all painted up.
What's the white strip under the mantlet? It looks like you filled a gap there?

As Paul noticed, your muzzle brake is turned too far. The openings are supposed to be on the sides not top and bottom.
If the dudes fired that, they'd set the ground on fire and they'd kick up enough dust and debris that you'd see them for miles.

I wasn't planning on adding zimmerit.
I think it might be beyond my skill level. Il look into It

yeah it is ager barrel. I was just gonna paint it like it was plastic

I've found some infomation to suggest that some Ausf A were without zimmerit. So I'm just gonna leave it. I think it's a bit late anyway to add it now as the model is built

yes that's right =) good research for example in the ardennes offensive there were 1 or 2 panther ausf a without zimmerit. that was extremely rare because most of these series didn't survive that long. every ausf a panther received the zimmerit in the factory but a few damaged ausf a panthers were repaired and the zimmerit was removed during this work and not applied again because since mid 44 the germans stopped adding zimmerit because our enemies simply didn't use magnetic hollow charges. but zimmerit or not zimmerit that's just a small detail =) i think it's good to leave it because a tank with zimmerit is much more difficult to weather! you should have as much fun as possible with your first model after such a long time! it looks really good! keep on the good work

Nicely done but as stated the muzzle openings should be at the sides and the barrel is not all the way in.

Very interesting. Got myself the same one, although I can read almost everywhere that much aditional effort on it will be required.
Would you mind posting the exact Aber part number for the barrel ? Maybe I'm blind but I can't find the proper one that is supported for the Tamiya model ...

Uuuuh, it's always those reference pics ...
I now find both Aber and RB Model barrels sporting the same weird design at the turret that doesn't really match the original.

Doesn't RB mostly make barrels not for specific models but to represent the real thing. When I built their Panther barrel I had to widen the hole to fit it in like so

Good model, good job! Looks like a fun build, too. I wouldn't worry too much about the chipping. Everything is allowed in scale modelling as long as it's appealing to the eye. Chipping adds a lot of character to a model... and it's so much fun to weather a tank model that one can easily get carried away a bit. Looking forward to seeing more from you in the future!
