Trumpeter 1/48, Vampire FB5 (SwAF J28 B)

Some pics of my finished Vampire.
Its in the colors of the Swedish Airforce and markings from the F10 wing in Ängelholm. (near my home town)
The kit is...hmm...so and so. Pretty basic in terms of detail and parts. Nice and crisp Surface detail. Some minor fit issues.
Clear parts are excellent and crystal clear. Instructions are good in layout, but not Always logical in how and order.
The kit has lots of scale flaws (if your a rivet counter, Im not) It also has a major flaw, or just a strange design...there is no floor in the cockpit over the nose Wheel bay. (scratched one).
Other than that i used Eduards cockpit PE, also added a pitot tube. (why leave that out Trumpy?)
The kit has no wingtip positioning lights, i scratched built these. By filing and sanding the shape in the tip. Then painting silver in there. Then painted red and green transparent over the silver. Then Micro Krystal klear as glass.
Also opened up the air intakes and replaced the two finns in the inlets.

Overall with a Little extra effort this kit builds into a decent Vampire in a nice size that presents itself well on the shelf.

Fantastique build! I really like that subtle pre-shade that shows through your top coat. Never seen a Vampire in this colour before.

As a side note, I'm doing some artwork of a training version of one of these.

I was in Farnbourgh this weekend, and got to see a Vampire up close when it did a low pass over my mothers house. The underside didn't look as good as yours!
