Roman Legionary "Dacian Wars"

Post by HamilkarBarkas »

Ave!
As our fellow Coen demands more figures, well here is another one

It is a white metal figure from Romeo Models in 54mm scale, showing a Roman Legionary during the Dacian Wars of the Emperor Trajan from 101-106 A.D. He is standing on a shield of a fallen fellow auxilia soldier where a Dacian "Falx" (a kind of recurved katana) is stuck in it. The Legionary is yelling a war cry or cheering about the victory, i don´t really know. However, he looks definately exhausted. It is a great pose.

In the video down below you can find more infos about the Dacian wars at the end.

Ask and I shall receive.
Nice.
Thank You
I just love all the fantastic tiny details crammed into these little pieces.
Did you paint the emblem on the shield yourself? Or was it more cleverly re-appropriated decals?
How about those leaves? Those are a really nice touch.

I used some spare decals for the shield, its not perfect but i´m a terrible free hand painter so the shields of those warriors are often very boring (but they werer not in the reality!).
Those leaves are a mix of Plusmodels (i think?) oak paper leaves and dried birch seed.
