Some pics!
A LOT of plastic in here! Even though its a dual combo, (I'll just be building one) there seems to be 4 of everything! Apart from fuselage and upper wings, of which there are three.
I've only had a quick look, but I'm hoping I might get an extra plane out of this!
Another thing I've never seen before are the decal sheets. It comes with whole and part swastikas on the same sheet! Go figure.

So nearly a week into this and I can honestly say, I'm ready to throw the thing out of the window!
The fit of this kit is beyond belief. Bar the tub, nothing fits. At first I thought it was because it was designed to have all the hatches and stuff open, showing the engine and guns etc. but I've even resorted to pulling all that detail stuff out, and still a mass of cavernous gaps and steps!

I've managed to get most of it closed up now, with the aid of clamps and copious amounts of CA (and beer!) but there's gonna be a shed load of filling on the horizon. I HATE filling/sanding!

The only things keeping this focker going are the fact it's in the GB and the paint scheme I've got planned for it. Mottling will be another first for me, so I want to get it done.

Anyways, now I've got that off my chest, I struggle on. Happy modelling!! Lol!

Sorry to hear of your fit problems......I can't believe it's an Eduard kit....I would think they'd be a higher end model kit......
especially at the prices they charge.
Still, I love the look of the "Butcher Birds". 190's ......both early and the later long nose ones are so cool looking.

Not all the eduard kits are expensive and some are quite old now too.

I've got one of eduards mig-21s in the stash, reviews said its the best available, so fingers crossed its better than this POS!

Sorry to hear about your fit problems mate. I actually love filling and sanding. I feel like I'm being creative rather than just gluing bits of plastic together. I understand your frustration though Glad you didn't throw it out the window. Good luck and looking forward to seeing an amazing model.

^^ thanks Jim, I know what you mean about being creative. I don't mind scratching my own stuff, like the base I made for the sdkfz222, or adding detail to a model. But when I've paid good money for a kit, I do expect it to have some resemblance of what I'm trying to build, lol! I get my 'creative buzz' after the build, ie painting, weathering, little extra details and the like.

I think you should be able to buy a kit and build it oob with no (major) problems. Then if I want to put effort into it I can, or if I'm a bit miffed, I can leave it oob. I guess what I'm most annoyed at is, if this was my first ever kit, I'd probably think all kits were like this, and give up. Especially if it was pre Internet research days!

Anyways... Thanks for letting me vent off! It's nearly finished now, and not looking too bad, if you squint! Lol!!

I haven't posted many pics of this as it was doing my head in, and I have to take the pic with iPhone, resize in another app, then load the site, then upload, and its a bit laborious on iPhone! I'm soooo lazy!

I've got a better idea for the next build tho.

Sorry to hear of your build problems with this kit Given Eduards reputation you are right to have expected better from it. Since there are two complete aircraft in the set you have I did a quick trawl of the net to see if I could find any reasons or fixes for your problems. If you check out this review http://kits.kitreview.com/eduard8174reviewbg_1.htm you can see that Eduard have noticed this as well and have some recommendations for your build to avoid the worst problems. Given that modern kits are CAD designed if you end up a little out on one component of the build then the effects can cascade into big problems elsewhere. Hope that you find this info useful!

Download the photobucket app chief, you can set the upload pic size, so all u have to do is take the pic, open photo bucket, upload it and its ready for you in the right size.

lol. No worries Chief. I agree with you too mate. If you get a kit for $20.00 or UK pounds you don't mind issues but when you pay good money I too would expect better. I am sure it has turned out just fine too mate - looking forward to seeing some photographs and stop Lee from posting his darn banner

Hey Chief! Did you get sorted out with PhotoBucket mate? I never read any of the rules so have no idea if they claim your photographs or not. To be honest they can have my photographs of my bits of plastic if they want them.

No Photobucket is nothing like Instagram, its a picture hosting site only. You can browse other users photos but if you don't want people to see yours then you can just set everything as private.
