Want to start a SIG?

I would love another sci-fi sig or gb (dont really know the difference lol) but I`m not experienced enough to be a motivator or leader, I`d just be happy to join in and feel pushed to complete by the other participants, I`m still learning and not really savvy enough to guide anyone.

But as I say, I would be a happy part of one, got some great kits lined up and if there might be one coming up I would save them for that.

Just throwing my hat in the ring for the future.

Hey I'm fairly new to the sight and was thinking about starting a SiG. So i was thinking any scale or brand AH-60L Black Hawk helicopter or any Black Hawk for that matter. With a diorama for the helicopter. I'd probally make it a few months or so long. So if you could tell me what you think that'd be nice. Also i dont think i would be a good moderator for the SiG, so maybe and administrator could moderate it.

With a few people interested in doing a Scifi SIG in 2015 , I thought this might be a good idea.

How about A STAR WARS SIG. Starting on "May the 4th!!" running thru to December 18, which is meant to be the release date of the new Starwars Movie.
I thought it could be a long SIG so those busy builders could still participate and would be great to tie into both dates.

Anything Starwars, any scale. no prizes needed just a good reason to celebrate the best Scifi franchise

Sounds good, I have a few SW kits that needs to be built including the 1/72 falcon. Might be a good time to do it.

I may have some ideas for a sig but i am not sure if it would generate a group big enough to host it on the forum
Bur how about a famous vehicle/plane/ship sig
I mean a specific vehicle not a type in general like a Tiger 1 or a Spitfire but a subject that actually stands out like a plane from a famous fighter ace or a one of a kind Tank like the Tiger II with the octopus camo.scheme
So a subject that a lot of people know about or have seen in a book or during their research on an subject
I guess a little bit of backgroud info would be needed as it would make clear it is a well know subject and not fictional
Although a 100% match is too much to ask for
We are modellers and not history professors after all

The second idea would be a dangerous cat part 2
This time not the Panther and not the Tiger as we already had them as subjects for group builds
But i am talking about the ultimate German heavy weight
The Tiger II
There are a lot of great kits for this tank and they are well documented as they where the pride of the German armored forces

As for both ideas i wouldn't mind helping to run it but i have no idea what would be involved with it
I never ran a gb before so i lack that experience but with a little help it should be possible i think

But like i sayed before i don't know if there is a big enough group to make this possible so let me know what you think

You are right about that Chip
Vut mine is already in the weathering stages by now
It was started during the Tiger Sig wich was held earlier this year but i had a accident with some airbrush cleaner and that caused me to repaint the entire model
You can always check out the build threads for all the Tigers for ideas and tips
They are in the sig and gb archive wich is in the gb section of the board index
But i was suggesting a sig for the Tiger II or King Tiger really
We already had a Panther and Tiger sig and i thought a KT sig would be nice to have too

Agreed. I would just love to build my first KT as part of an official ISM SIG, but the plate is full for this year already.

Sounds great about the King Tiger can it be expanded to include tanks destroyers which mounted the 8.8 gun as well? Just want to build a tank destroyer in my stash.

I would like to see the same thing as with the dangerous cat sig , well that was the idea anyway
That was limited to the chassis wich had to be a Panther in that sig
So in this case it would mean the KT Porsche turret , KT Henschel turret and the Jagdtiger
But i entered this idea in the idea thread for next years SIGs and GBs and i have seen the same idea several times now (about 4 or 5) so there is a good chamce that it will become a ISM sig in the upcoming year
Amd to be honest i couldn't start another build anytime soon as i have a small entry in the dessert rats gb and i am planning a more elaborate build for the heil the hunters sig
Ooh and i need to finish 2 builds in the next couple of days
So i am booked for this year anyway
But i am not saying what you can or can't build so i think i will wait for the results of the idea thread before i start planning anything

Sounds like a plan. I can build the Selbstfahrlafette and it can be open to any flak used by any nation.

I don't know if you already did but you can put this idea in the GB/SIG for 2016 thread
I would join in as i have a few AA kits in the stash but i plan on doing less group builds next year as i have several plans that take too long for the time a gb lasts
But still a few can't hurt
That kit you have is that the bronce kit with the fold down sides by any chance

Wait a sec, why does it have to be a specific subject. Why not do something that EVERYONE can do.
We could have a GB where you build your favorite Car, ship, plane or AFV so it's not limited to a certain subject that way anyone and everyone can build what they like. Isn't that the point of modeling, build whatever the heck you want and have fun doing it!

I think you're missing the point of gb/sig's. Anyone can build whatever they like, when they like, and post it on here. The whole idea of a gb/sig is to have a group of people building a similar subject/theme at the same time. If we had a gb where the rules said 'build whatever you like' what would be the point? We do that anyway.

Has anyone ever done a sisters build? Like two tanks same company S31 with S34 Das Reich, or two aircraft same Squadron, and so on. Would that be a sig? I don't know. but I'd like to join something like that.

Dear All,

after 2 and a half years of building Tiger 1's as part of a project to build all the variants and cover each of the heavy tank battalions i only have the
510th left to do.I am currently working on the interior - I hear a massive sigh of relief mainly from my wife.Thus i will not be getting divorced.

To celebrate the end I propose a build of any Tiger 1.
I will provide the prizes from my stash.
1st Prize Rye Field kit 5003 Tiger 1 with full interior.2nd Prize Rye Field kit 5005 Tiger Fehrmann. 3rd Prize Rye Field Tiger kit 5001.
I will throw in some extras if required.
Ofcourse i will ship out the prizes as well !!!

If anyone is interested let us know - it will be a starter if we get a decent response.

Wow Richard, amazing prizes you're providing! I already built (and planning to paint) my first Tiger I (RMF 5001) and I can say it's an awesome kit!
