I added the anchor support part in, The CatHeads, and most of the bow woodworks

I have left off the faces on the blocks end until final finishing so I don’t bonk them off
Just tucked a brass pin and a rope through and tied it off until it is anchor time…also late in build

Upper deck cannons going on. At this point it is only the breech line rigged to them seen in the reference here

Pins in the front to help glue the cannons in place

Tan ropesofscale lines threading in

I preferred the tan ropes to the black so changed the first three out

These will do the shroud lines up to the masts

Then I did a flat brush in the ropes I had used in the railings and such….just to flatten and dull them and eliminate the plastic shine

Now everyone just sit down and relax I have something to tell you

I am actually modelling again
More like electrical contracting as next big blockage was getting the wiring in and routed before closing up the decks
Big hole drilled in the keel and routed a rats nest of wires down and through that hole
Soldered up some ends and taped them off

Then got a cabin light wired and placed and put the lower deck on with cement while the others help it stay in position

Hello Scott !

First of all thank you for the kind words. And yes the pup is great and loves the new place. May be even takes a bit more her ease now on the couch and in the bed. She's a real lazy dog that prefer playing then walking. But when she starts to play nothing will stop her and will get other dogs tired way before her. But the rest of the time a real lazy larva !!!

Some under deck, some in the captain's quarters and some for the rear torches

I have taken a different approach to what you propose and it depends on what effect or how far you want to take raised details.
One way is to paint in a water based paint the base then paint over it in a lacquer and just rub it off the high points. Not always easy to get a uniform look.
Another way is to get a fairly hard dense packing foam. I use the black stuff paint it then gently press it onto the foam. It's quick and works if the high points are all at the same level. You have to be careful as to the amount of pressure applied. I did it on My Somua tank for the front brass name plate.

EDIT....Silly me forgot to say paint the foam then press the object onto it.

If you're thinking of going the dry brushing route, I'll recommend a texture palette. Essentially, it's stuff of your choosing to test and get right the dry brushing amount before applying to the model. The pic below is one I made last week, I'm a big fan so far though I wish I had more WH40k type figures to test on.

I will do a dry brush for a final weather.
Have a great ‘light cement’ Ultimate wash…but it is easy to get heavy handed BUT it wipes off easy too

How did you manage to paint the deck to look like real wood ? The detail is phenomenal ! I know you used oil's but getting it to look like genuine wooden panels is just off the chart. Just incredible

The wood effect is super easy really.
There is a degre of texture on the plastic to simulate grain
Base coat of a light tan colour
Oil browns, light first then a darker burnt umber
Some black oil to darken and add accents
I have it in photos earlier on in the threads

My favourite part is the alcohol bottles made from a resin test pattern that happened to have these little bottle shapes

Add some chart scrolls, books and candle holders. I also have some small skulls for the tables

A bit bogged down in the captain’s quarters, but making progress on the dollhouse work
Found a screenshot photo that shows a rather large carpet running port to starboard

So printed out a paper rug and glued it to some wallet lining material I have for leatherwork

Now messing around with placing items in different spots. Still a work in progress
