I would like your opinion on some chipping, go easy and try not to use the phase "out of scale".....

I guess I can stick a clear cote on now and start toning them colours down a bit? I'm hoping that it should blend in a bit with an oil dot filter

Might need to get some more colours tho....

Before you do the clear coat Tim, you should maybe paint those tow cables and track haul cables as well as the barrel cleaning rods. That way they'll all have the same treatment as the rest of the vehicle.
I really like that camo, the chipping is really cool too.

Just a quickie lads. An all over sludge oil wash, left to dry and then a pin oil wash and this is how we are....

Oh no! It's started...

Actually I don't I'll get a lot done to the track until I get me wheels on.
Question: would I be best to use white (PVA) or ca glue?
Now I've looked at the question I think I know the answer, but give it your best shot

I'm not sure that I understand the question Tim.
What did you want to use the glue on? The tracks?
If that's the case then, myself, I'd use Tamiya extra thin. White glue is too weak and takes to long to harden. CA glue is messy and is extremely brittle.

Wheels Mike, I meant wheels, for that reason actually mate. PVA takes too long, ca I'm not keen on but will TET be ok on all that paint??

To glue the tracks to the tops of the wheels I'd just use a tiny dap of CA in that case. Jam a couple of cotton buds or clothespins between the hull and the top of the tracks to hold them in position to dry and you'll be in business. The TET would make a bit mess with all that paint around it.

Here we go then lads...

What is the easiest/best way of getting these tracks on. There isnt any room to get the tracks on and off the wheels so they can be painted and I obviously can't glue the tracks up and then paint...... I'm at a bit of a loss

Wheels are glued on with TET btw (hope they don't need to come off).

I hadn't realised that you'd glued the wheels on Tim.
That will make installing the tracks very difficult unless you have assembled them in sections. If they're in sections you can install them once they're base painted and ready for weathering and then glued in place.
Otherwise you'll probably have to try to reactivate the TET and remove the wheels.

This is the one thing I was worried about all along Mike. I haven't made up all the tracks and I haven't glued on all of the wheels and only one side.

Right here we go!

Assembling the tracks is a bit fiddly to say the least, a couple of dabs of Extra Thin and....

I did mine in batches of 10....

10 mins drying time, then I've primed with AK...

Drybrush with dark blue grey, I guess you could use any grey...

A quick dry, then another drybrush with Citadel Leadbelcther.....

Another quick dry, them I've chucked a bit of Ultimate rust all over the tracks. They'll be weathered properly later.....

That was the easy bit. I had a hell of a fiddle trying to get them over the wheels, in fact one of the damn things kinda fell into 4/5 pieces

. (I could take any pic's lads sorry as was a bit busy). I don't think I left it long enough to dry

In the end though I've managed to end up with this...

I realise they not perfect by a long chalk, but for a first time I'm reasonably happy with them as long as they stay together

If you know of an easier way let me know please, as I don't want do that again for while

I've had a quick look and i think it's almost like what I tried to do. It's my first time (officer) so practice is needed, maybe I shouldn't have buggered about trying to paint them up??
