What a difference some primer can make.
I gave him a nice coat of Model Master Acrylic Primer (cause I wanted to try it out and grey shows off the boo boos better so I can fix them)
It went on smooth and dried a satiny finish. And almost not smell.
I like.
So Vallejo and MMA primers both seem to paint well... next will be will it hold on to the surface well and will paint stick to it.

He's some shots... sorry... only man boobies.

Yup... now I can see all the mistakes that I have to fix up.
Not much.. just some seams that didn't smooth out with the paste. Still handy stuff.

Sure. Next bunch I'll pop one of my 1/16th tiger crew and a 1/35th figure in the shot.

this looks excellent already, all you need now is a nice paintjob :) you sure selected no the easiest type of figure but otherwise it wouldn´t be a challenge, right?

I hope it's a challenge... it certainly looks like one... the nightmares that I have about him certainly tell me so. haha

So here's a scale comparison of Mr. Campbell to a 1/16th and a 1/35th figure.
I think that when he's done.. and he doesn't look like Phyllis Diller, he'll look great in my living room next to a Campbell Coat of Arms.

Oops... wrong one.

Haha.. yeah I put labels on them with Photo bucket but it isn't coming through the embedding.
Stupid software.
The feller in the back is 1/16 the wee dude in front is 1/35.

Yeah, it would be better if I knew what I was doin haha. :wall:
I'm sorta makin most of it up as I go.
I have a few books about it, but the fellas in the books are so far beyond my level of skill I can barely understand or even fathom the work that they're trying to show.
Sometimes I think that they just put out these books to show everyone how awesome they are. :(

I'd have to scratch build the koi, I don't think there's an aftermarket 120mm koi kit out there haha.
Hey... maybe if I talk to Aaron haha.
Thanks for the ideas Greg. I hadn't thought that far ahead... I am now. :th:

I finally got a bit of work done on Mr. Campbell here. I'm hoping to make some real progress on him over the next few days.

I'll have some pictures up soon.

Wow...... :eeek: He's coming on a treat Mr Coen Sir...... :th:
That tartan is gonna be the make or break though I'm sure...:
And I think I should inform you that after careful study.... I can confirm that you sir have the very rare condition known as "modelcaholism"....
That combined with your insomnia has turned you into a first class ISM moderator....
Ha ha ha .....
Keep up this enthusiasm dude...... Do you ever have an "Off" day?
Well done.. :thumb1:

If you meant off day as in a bad day or a day that I suck... every day is and off day haha.

Thanks guys,
Yeah, it's really growing on me. It's not like any other kind of modelling.
I think this might be my new time killer.
When I have a few minutes to do something I can just pick one of these up a dabble.

It's a super branch of the hobby: music on, kick back, put brush to paint, get lost in the detail - bliss.

Skin looks great :thumb1: , I might recommend a bit of shadow to define his chest and muscle but it isn't a necessity. Good luck with the tartan, you will need a steady hand so none of the :cheers2: for you.

Lovely, the hair looks great aswell! I do not envy you when it comes to painting the tartan pattern, this will be difficult and i have no idea how to handle it apart from using your steady hands and a good brush.
