I got a small update for you guys ....

I bought a couple of bases and a pre-made grass mat at telford back in November and I put them to good use here ...









I have some long grass at home so I cut them in size and glue them on just to give it some vegetation.

I made some small rocks out of plaster and painted them dark grey. I might need to put a wash over them.

I also made some track marks in the soil by mixing up pigments and plaster and pouring it on the ground works and finally pressing them down.


And this is how the Nashorn will look like on the base -




I am having great difficulty trying to make some bushes. I have some lichens but I cannot glue them down and they do not have enough volume nor height to make a very big bush, something big enough to hide the Nashorn. Don't know what to do next. HELP...

use brushes and trees by Heki for that
it is a company that makes stuff for model trains so you can find it a stores that sells these trains
and a tree in that scale makes nice bushes in 1:35 scale

Fabulous work on the Nashorn, the figures and on the dio Gary ! Excellent work mate !

Looks great with the figures gary! I love the poses and I think it helps a lot to show a sense of how the vehicle was operated and also provides scale.

But I understand what you're saying about the figures, I struggle with them a bit too, I love to have them placed once they done but they drain my patience at times.

Allow me to make a suggestion about those shoulder pads that might just make your life a little bit easier in the future.

There is a set of decals from Tamiya with various insignia and shoulder pads for 1/35 and 1/16. I believe they aren't too expensive either.
The terrain looks really good, I like it alot!

The diorama and build are fabulous Gary, and everything looks tremendous and life-like, the diorama tells a story and it's one of my favorite builds.
not great with figures myself but i do like this one.

Hi Mark. Thanks for the heads up but I cannot find Heki products in the UK as well as I am so damn broke now.. LOL but I will keep your recommendation in mind for future stuffs

Thank you Tom. I did not bad a job on the figure in this build. I like them myself, albeit it could do better
