Boss man
Yes norm, what we need is a pic of the box art, the sprues, any aftermarket extras you plan on using, be it PE, figures, scenery etc (you can add more if you need too as you go) any references you will be using books, DVDs etc and any history on the chosen subject you wish to add. The more information you can provide the better really.
The main criteria is the model box art and sprues just to show its an unstarted model, no need for a date stamp etc we trust you all. (At the end of the day you would only be cheating yourselves anyway)
Anything else you add is just for interest for the forum readers, remember its not really going to be who makes the best model, but it's the contribution made along the way. Dont be afraid to post too many pics or too long a write up, the more the better.
My entry is already written up ready to be transferred tomorrow
You will all soon be chomping at the bit to get group builds and sigs started, trust me

The stuff i ordered for the GB should arrive in the next days, first i will finish off a different project to have the workbench free so i can focus on the group build and the pictures/videos/texts i have to make in order to make it informative and interesting. I´m usually pretty fast so this short delay of 1 or 2 weeks should not hurt me. In August i will have 3 weeks of holiday so whatever will happen i get it done. Thats what i like about it, this group build does not annoy you because you have to rush, you can really take your time and make it good

Have been wanting to do a bf109Z-2 for a bit.
The 109Z-1 was built but not flown and I belive that the Z-2 was the next step
Is a Bf109 Z-2 alowed?

1/48 Tamiya Corsair F4U-1A
All of these kits were won or given to me, so aftermarket is a must!

Sure you have the time Luis?
I vote seafire.

I'm torn between a nice easy kit like the Tamiya German Motorbike and Sidecar kit, some Dragon German Infantry or a Tank, either a Dragon Pz3 or Pz2. I'm thinking I might start with the Infantry and see where I end up.

My vote is for the IL-2 Sturmovik. One of my favorite planes.

Oh, Lord! Choices, choices! The telegraphist gave me an Airfix Club kit Hurricane IID a while back (thanks Dave!) and my daughter wants that one built and hanging in her bedroom next to her desert Spitfire... But I've got an image in my head of a desert dio with it bearing down on a piece of German armour with a line of kicked up sand leading towards it... Mind you, I've never attempted anything like it and would be making it up as I go so perhaps I'm aiming a little high for my first ever GB!

I shall go for one of the old (or new) Airfix series 'Aircraft of the aces'. Gives about 17 machines to choose from but I shall whittle it down to those that I have not built yet. Still leaves a good few choices. Will have a think about it over the next few days once I clear the bench up a bit. Need to make sure I have all the required paints and decals before starting, old kits can need a lot of work to make presentable, hope luck will make me pick a decent kit with little filling and sanding required.
Phil, look up the "El Alamein" gift set, A50148, only available from a few limited outlets, that would look good beside the other desert coloured birdies. It has a Tomahawk IIB and Bf109E-4B trop (or a E7 trop if you look at the very old Airfix tooling of the same markings).
Have fun everybody, looking forward to seeing the end results in a few months time (or days or weeks).
Dave.

Hi Team
I just wanted to make sure your all aware that the group build is from 7 June - 7 September. 3 months not 4. Sorry for any confusion. We have the source of the confusion who will be placed against a wall and made to listen to hard core country music for a week.
The dates and details are in the GB Build thread but I have seen some comments here stating 4 months. Don't want anyone sitting around thinking they have another month on their builds only to find they've missed the deadline. Because I know we all love to read instructions don't we?

Mind you it would mean a better chance for me to win a prize that way. lol
Take care and good luck everyone
Jim

Just about to order the Tamiya 1/48 Vought F4U-1d corsair from Modelsrgo.

Never built a corsair so this should be interesting.

After much uuming and arring I decided that I will build the Dragon Pz 2 kit I purchased back in May. It's only a small tank so I shouln't have much trouble, but there are a lot of bits in the box.
My first build post will be Sunday 23rd if I can pull myself away from watching Le Mans.
