The build phase is just about complete. I still want to add a tiny bit of PE to some of the clamps and clasps.
But the major construction is dun.
I forgot to take real photos of the interior after I had detail painted it and then buttoned the thing up. So I had to use screencaps from the vid that I did.
Hopefully they'll be clear enough so that you can see.
I've even managed to complete the figures. (Thanks Matthew )
There's a video incoming later... I'm still editing it as I write this.

An absolute beauty!!
Just goes to show, phenomenal skill + in-depth knowledge = stunning masterpiece!
A true sign of just how skillful you are, is when you watch your vids you make it look effortless, almost like you could do this stuff in your sleep. Unlike when you look at my stuff and it looks like I DID do it in my sleep!!
Bravo maestro!!

So the last few days I had intended to film in segments and photograph the next bit in the build in a bit of detail.
I kinda didn't do that. Life happened and hangouts happened. So I got a lot done.. just not a lot filmed or photoed.
Oops.
I cobbled some stuff together though so I can do an update.
First... Primer coat is on. AK's Primer... as that's all that I had. It went on like a dream as it always does.
Then the preshading with Mig's Dunkelgelb Shadow.
Then the first base coat, another of Mig's Dunklegelbs... I'm not sure which one.
Then I sprayed Mig's Dunkelgelb highlights to fade the paint and never took pictures of it.
So this is when I joined a 6 hour long hangout and brain farted my way through the rest of the paint until I got to here.
It's still very stark as it needs washes and filters, but I'm happy with the base colour. If not a little blind from the dots.
There's even a video of sorts... don't mind the end. I'd had a rough night and the pills that I take are doing most of the talking.

Now that I've sorted out what to do with the Mig paints things improved quite a bit for production.
I managed to finish off the detail painting and get the decals on.
I experimented with some of Mig's colours for German primer and his line of rust paints.
The primer took some getting used to, only in such as I'm used to a different series of colours so I had to figure out what colours and what intensity I needed to use them at for Mig's line. There was some swearing.
I'm happy with the result in the end though.
The same is said for the rust, only I was happy with the colours straight away. They're beautiful!!!!
The texture they have is wonderful as well. I had a lot of fun playing with those.
Now she's sitting on a shelf drying with a clear coat over the decals for a couple of days.
Here's the picts of the work and a bit of a video... I won't embed the video here on the forum this time, I'll just offer the link as the content is a bit... Non-family friendly at one point and has no place here on the forum. (A bit of swearing at the end) This is still processing when I posted this so it may be awhile.
Here is the beginnings of the detail painting... it's really hard to see because the ambush camo is so busy.
The tracks with the Migs track base and some of the rust colours that I was experimenting with.
All decaled and detailed.
These are the two odd primer only wheels that I was experimenting with to add visual interest.

Thanks Dudes!!!
I've been working of and on again on this over the last while and I got quite a bit done... it's just hard to see with the busy camo.
It's been decalled, dull-coated, burnt umber washed, pin washed, rusted, and now dot filtered.
Next is the green filter.
Here are the shots of what's been done to her so far.
I'll end it off with a note saying that there's a video up about it on my channel, but because I plug a friend of mine's product at the beginning I won't put the link here. It's update number 009 for the panther build on my channel if anyone is interested.
Here she is with her chips and rust streaks.
Then a nice Burnt Umber oil wash.
Now the dot filter.
Next a green filter then it's on to the environmental effects, mud, dirt, etc.

I've primed the figures and started the mock-up of the vignette base as well today.
I'm thinking that the story being told is, the panther and crew, after stopping to make some repairs and strip off damaged schurzen stopped to ask a passing Fallschirmjager for directions.
I haven't mocked up the incidentals like bushes, trees, goats, etc as yet.

No more videos? No more goats? Wha????? Oh well, that's too bad for us, but understandable with all the technical things like retakes taking up lot's of time.
I think your Panther is fan-freaking-tastic Mike! Really great work. I am feeling an ever so gentle tug to get back into armor kits thanks to inspiration like this.

Damn that's a gorgeous Panther.
And on the subject of your youtube vid...I have something called complex PTSD which is a result of traumatic abuse before the age of 5. I'm a big mess, always have been. It is a struggle for me to keep myself as controlled and useful as possible for my family. So do whatever makes you ok. And don't do what doesn't.

And it is important that you enjoy your hobby ( it's not a job)
So stay healthy , safe en have fun in life

The last few days have given me more time that I've had in ages to work on any one project.
I find now that I'm looking for things to do in between the big things I have on the go... now they're all but done.
Including this.
I actually finished this project this afternoon.
But there's work to be shown that leads up to that.
Unfortunately I didn't take many pictures of it, I did do a couple of videos.
So the last time you saw the panther, it was all finished but a filter and the final placement effects... mud and dirt (not weathering by the way... weathering is rust, scratches, chips, fading of paint, damage to the subject). The figures also needed to be painted and the vignette constructed.
Well here ya go then...
Here is a video that is a bit of a montage of work from my last post and this one.

Here is the first mock up after many hours of fussing about and humming and hawing about where things will go.
This is the arraignment of the figures that makes me the most happy as well as the final decision on the paint colours.
After this I spent a lot of time away from the build while I finished my Kursk diorama. I picked at it here and there, but I didn't take many photos.
All that's left now is the final.
Cause it's all finished.
For the final reveal you'll have to go over to the reveal section of the SIG turned GB.
