Which metal track burnishing fluid?

Hey there, fellow modellers!

As you can tell by the subject line, I'm building my first Friul metal tracks at the moment and I'm thinking about using a burnishing fluid instead of painting them. First of all to those of you with more experience: Is that the better choice?

And then: Which burinishing fluid should I use? I found three different brands: AK interactive, Ammo of MIG and (of course) Ultimate. Now, with the shipping to Germany, Ultimate is the most expensive one, while the AK stuff is the cheapest. Is there any real difference between these products? Did anybody experiment with different burnishing fluids and can tell me which one's the best? All kinds of advice would be very much appreciated!

Ive used all three, and i think the Ultimate works best ( i do co-own Ultimate though)

But the effect speaks for itself, a much better effect than i got with either the mig or ak ones

I've used burnishing fluids since the mid 2000s and I've tried pretty much all of the brands theat have come and gone. Some are actually the same brands but with new company labels on them.
Until recently blacken it was the best one that I've ever used, all the others that have come since have been pretty much warm pee in a bottle in comparison.
The only other one that offered a decent result, but not good enough for me to use again was the AK offering.
The stuff that Paulywog makes ... UMPs burnishing fluid is by far the best since blacken it.
It actually does what it's supposed to do, and very quickly. You can vary the reffects as well depending on the soak time with a predictable and repeatable result.
It also does something that the others don't and that's add a slight weathering effect depending on soak time. Paul's videos and photos are quite extensive and very accurate to the effects and I'd recommend giving them a look see before you buy anything.
Later in the week I'll be doing my own experiment and video on Paul's product to put it through its paces, but I'm quite confident that it will pass must from what I've seen so far.

Shame as ours is a lot cheaper than the competition in the uk
