StuG III Ausf.G with Waffle Zimmerit

Post by Panzermeister36 »

Hi guys, here is my completed 'StuG III Ausf.G July 1944 Late Production with Zimmerit' in 1/35th scale by Dragon.

This is one of those beautiful Dragon kits that comes with the textured zimmerit anti-magnetic mine coating (the waffle-like pattern on the hull) molded onto the plastic. It is and incredible kit with next to no issues at all, apart from the usual confusing Dragon instructions.

I added the weather cover between the gun mantlet and the hull as well as the two tarps on the rear hull, all made from lead foil. The fuel drum is from Tamiya and the box is from a Dragon figure set called 'Eastern Front Tank Hunters'.

I did a video showing the chipping process on the StuG that I've linked below. I also explain the whole weathering process in my reveal video below as well.

Hope you guys enjoy :thumb2:

OMG! Looks like the real thing, nice weathering. The StuG III is my favorite Axis tank.

Great job!
That camo pattern just looks superb. It has the "field applied" appearance for sure.

I'm actually working on a small little grassy base for it. Maybe a crew sometime in the future if I find some nice tankers :thumb2:
