italeri sr71 blackbird.

Post by wookiee76 »

Ok so here goes, a simple build and paintjob but my first entry proper into a gb or sig finished.
Overall im happy with the outcome, shame about some silvering on the underside decals but i can soon mix up some more super dark grey paint and cover that but they wont be visible once she takes her place on a shelf.

Congrats on finishing a GB mate, always feels quite good.

And a cracking entry as well. Shame about the silvering, big decals like that are always a bit tricky to apply nicely over black, so I hope you can sort them.

Thanks gav, got the silvering sorted with some careful brushwork, i painted over the silvered sections and it seems to have worked a treat. Next up is the desert rats gb for which i am trying to hold onto a meng m2a3 with interior, well thats after the vj day 48hr build anyway!

Lol dbmiller, it isnt actually black just a very very dark grey so that i could add a wash to pick out the panel lines!

When I first saw that would be an eye Spy SiG in ISM , this was my first thought to build a Recon plane, because this is fir me THE recon plane :-) , and one of the most beautifull and 'misterious' jets tht I read in my adolescence and when I was interested for Planes and so ...

Now I like a lot your build , a great build , and it isn't easy to paint a all black plane , your is just beautifull and a great adition to this SiG gallery !

Enjoyed a lot !

:cheers2:
Cheers ,
António

On the Bench
