Ok so I made a start on the kit this evening and started on the turrert, went together well, just a few small parts and hatchs left to add

Hopefully I will be able to crack on with it more next week and have it ready for paint by next weekend.

This is a really sweet little kit bud, it should build up well.
Mine didn't come with those tracks though. I wonder if yours is a newer or older release of the kit.
Interesting.

I am looking forward to this build. for some reason I really dig the direct vision Shermans. I want to build one like this and one of the type that has the added armor plates over the vision slits.
I have never built a Dragon kit and this may be my first depending on how yours goes.

Thanks, so far the kit has gone together very well and I would recommend getting one

I built the model not too long ago and was not really impressed by it. Somehow the front section did not fit well on the lower and upper hull. maybe it was just me

yours looks good so far, no question!

That's a common fit issue with dragon Shermans. It's a pain, but fixable with some fiddling.
Looks great so far Jack.

Looks tons better than my build and youre just starting it. I'm watching this one close. Please keep posting so I can learn from this. I've noticed there is a build difference between different armor types. I want to really see what the primary color turns out like. I cant wait to see it finished!

Attached the upper and lower hull this morning, only a small amount of filler was required, only a small amount of photo etch left to add then it's ready for paint

Not built a DV yet but I will at some point. Yours looks a great kit. What olive drab paints are you going to use?

I was thinking of using the Above interactive modulation set or the standard vallejo olive drab.

I've used them all Jack. I think the vellejo colours are way off the colour of Olive drab. I've just used the Mig ammo modulation which I found to be good. Also tamiya OD for the sides and for the highlights a mix of deck tan mixed in. The true Olive drab colour is a big subject in its self so have a go with a few of them.
