Airfix Decals

Post by Joe »

Gentlemen

I'm about to start the decal stage on my first Airfix model. As I have not used any of their decals before, I'm curious as to what they are like. Could I use Micro Set and Sol on the decals or should I use the more powerful Mr. Mark Setter and Mark Softer? Are they flimsy and easy to tear?

Any info is greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Joe

For me i think airfix decals have the best decals as they are made by cartograf. Clear, precise and soft enough to apply nicely.
You only need to you micro sol and micro set to get the perfect results.

The new kits do have cartograf decals but the older ones are a different matter, if they are cartograf it either says on the box or on the decal sheet.
John, whats on my bench? Usually a mess and a couple of different models a week.

Their new tool stuff works perfectly well with the Microsol and Microset products.
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

Be carefull using stronger setting solutions especially on roundells. They can bleed.
