So much Russian Armour

Post by JudgeDredd »

Why is there so much Russian armour?

I'm currently looking for a kit for Christmas and whilst browsing armour from Zvesda, Trumpeter, Dragon etc - there seems to be a glut of Russian armour and APCs.

Anyone got an idea of a manufacturer and model for armour? I'm comfortable with the complexity of Tamiya but would maybe like to go a bit deeper for this one and it can't be over £50 (or maybe creep over slightly for the right model)

My preference for AFV's would be
Cold War
Modern
WWII

Maybe the Zvezda T-90 MBT
that should be a bit more complex then your average Tamiya kit but it is pretty good to build and looks looks very impressive
besides that it is probably cheaper then Trumpeter , Tamiya and Dragon

I wouldn't know about the T-80 as i don't have one
I did build the T-90 kit and i think it is a very nice kit to build
the only thing that requires some extra attention are the tracks but they also have a good fit if you follow the instructions very carefully
the barrel is a bit of nightmare to get smooth but that is more because of the design of the real barrel and there are more modern tanks that have all kinds of raised details on the gun

Thank you.

T90 is a strong contender at £30

Trumpeters t90 can be picked up for a little more although that is a more complex kit, still builds really well though. Loved that kit and may be forced to get another.
John, whats on my bench? Usually a mess and a couple of different models a week.
