1:48 scale D-Day Spitfire.

Post by Clifftop »

I assume such a kit exists?

I have a Revell 1:48, Mk IXc (or XVI) Spit. Could I rework that to a D-Day true model?

Thang-yew!

The Academy XIV can be done with invasion stripes. Loads of IX's and XVI's were involved in and around D-day, if you have a serial for the airframe let me know and I can always look it up in the good old Spitfire bible.

Edit: In fact I might have some Hasegawa decals for invasion striped IX's.

What I'd like to do is build a D-Day Spitfire for the Chairman (and main donor/founder) of D-Day Revisited, a charity that I am very much involved with.

It would be a fitting and personal gift for him so I'd like to get it spot on.
