In need of parts

Post by Madmattmodels89 »

Hello to all gents,

I recently acquired the new Italeri kit of the AS 42 Sahariana, a beautiful kit that comes with PE parts and metal barrel. Kit number is 6530. I thought this one came with the resin engine like kit # 6452 but sadly it doesnt. I contacted Italeri but they told me that the resin engine is not in production therefore not available.

Is there any other way to either find or make my own? I thought of getting a in line 6 engine from a car model but those would be in scale 1/25.

Any thoughts?

This is the parts I need

You could try searching through the for sale/ swap in scalemates. Might get lucky.

You might have a gander at looking on the interweb to find a scale resin aftermarket engine. I have had some luck that way in the past. As above scalemates is my first stop research site when it comes to models and available aftermarket.

As always happy modeling and keep sticking styrene.

Thanks guys for all the help! I made some research and all I found is an engine set for a Horch 15 but at $27 plus shipping it's a bit out of hand just for the engine. I will try to scratch build it myself from historical pics and using the pics of the Italeri engine as reference. I have a resin casting kit at home so I can make a copy out of the master piece I will build
